Great hotel in a great beach location.Posted Nov 6, 2015
The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. The rooms were very large and comfortable with all the necessary amenities. Breakfast was good and the place was well maintained. The hotel is located mid way on the beach strip. We would stay at this property again. The price was right. Highly recommended.

Nice Hotel on a Stunning BeachPosted Nov 3, 2015
Pros: The staff were very nice and friendly. There is an area at the beachfront of the hotel that vendors cannot enter without consent of the guests.
Cons: It should be made more apparent that if you are paying for meals with your room tab, a 20% service fee will be automatically added to the bill.
Location: Snorkeling on glassbottom boats can be arranged easily from the beach. There's a little jerk restaurant accross the street called Best in the West.
Planned a last minute trip to Negril, Jamaica and was able to book 5 nights at this hotel at an excellent rate (it was during the slow season - last week of October). We were escorted to our room by "Pops", who helped orient us to the hotel itself as well as gave us advice on where to go for food, who to go through for local trips i.e. glass bottom boats for snorkeling etc. He always greeted us with a smile and seemed very genuinely interested in making sure we were thoroughly enjoying Jamaica. He even knocked a coconut off a tree and cracked it open for us to drink and eat the meat out of "jamaican style". The hotel is right on 7 Mile Beach, which has a lot of vendors offering everything from bracelets to lobsters, etc. and at times they can be very pushy and rude. Fortunately the hotel has a beachfront area that is off limits to these vendors so you can relax in peace. A security guard is on hand to help enforce this. Once you step past these borders they are free to approach you and sell whatever. And just ignoring them also seemsto aggravate them. Otherwise this beach is paradise with its amazing soft white sand, clear warm turquoise water and beautiful sunsets. Sandy Haven is also a relatively quiet hotel in comparison to some of the others in the area, which I appreciated.

Very nice, but…Posted Sep 18, 2015
This was my second time staying at this hotel. I really like the place. They greet you with a nice tropical drink, the front desk, cleaning and bell staff are always friendly and courteous and the grounds, floors, etc are well kept. They have a small but functional gym (which makes a difference to me) and the cleaning service for clothes and room cleanliness is fast and efficient. My only gripes with the place is the lack of even miniature fridges. Those wine chillers in the junior suites have to go. I only get to come to Jamaica for a few days, maybe once a year. My relatives down there usually give me a ton of stuff to eat and I usually have to bring some to the hotel after my visit with them on the other end of the island has finished. That chiller only goes down to about 55゜F (12゜C) and it caused my food to spoil. I also think it isn't cold enough for other beverage. I like my beer at about 8゜C. One more thing: the TV is at about a10 pm location in relation to the bed and it is hard to see because of the glare coming in from the glass doors even with the curtains closed. At least put the TV on a swivel stand. Also, the rooms need re-numbering. My room was 201 but it was on the third floor That may be nitpicky but it seems important to me. Overall the place is really nice and the location is pretty good in relation to walking to shopping or eating places on the main road. Check out Sweet Spot about 10 minutes on foot going out to the right. Great authentic food

We (family of three with teenage son) thought highly of 7 miles beach in negril overhearing from many people. Not much impressive to us I'm afraid. Sand on the beach is very smooth and sea water is very warm but that's about it.Nothing much going on around the beach (Rick's Cafe in west end has got more people and entertainment etc) As we were in Hilton Rose Hall while in Mo Bay prior to staying in Negril which offered a lot of water sport activities-some inclusive & some additional cost, in Sandy Haven we did not enjoy much of the sea. I have to say room is pretty good inside though. We chose to upgrade to sea view room where wifi signal/quality is poor and trees are blocking the sea view anyway. Not really worth upgrading to sea view after all.

Great hotel, staff, and view of the CaribbeanPosted Aug 8, 2015
Pros: The hotel's beach front was breathtaking. The security guard made sure the vendors didn't get too close if not interested.
Cons: The WiFi can be improved. However, we linked onto WebStar in the room and then switched back to the Sandy Haven in the lobby and Bongo's restaurant.
Location: Kenny Tours is Sandy Haven's primary choice of travel if you want to go to Rick's Cafe, The Rockhouse Hotel, Timesquare, Cosmo's, etc....
I am so happy my best-friend and I found the Sandy Haven on Trip Advisor. We were able to set up transportation from MBJ to the hotel through Kenny Tours and absolutely loved the drive there. The staff was awesome, especially Pops! He made sure us ladies were safe and taken care of. The room itself was super clean and modern to our liking. We had breakfast every morning on the deck overlooking the Caribbean and got some beach lounge chairs right after. Overall, Sandy Haven delivered 100%. We can't wait to go back!!!
