Nice hotel but dinner options lacking.

Pros: Staff and room were great. Check-in, bar staff, maid service, all were great!
Cons: Quality dining should be available.
Location: Snorkeling okay. Best in the West Restaurant across the street has good affordable food.
This was our tenth time to Jamaica, ninth to Negril. The hotel staff and rooms were great. We met three other couples at the hotel and we all only ate at the hotel once for dinner due to a poor experience. We had all decided to eat at the hotel special night dinner by the beach with a steel drum band. It was a buffet and the food was running out before our first visit to the food tables as we were given scrapings from the bottom of the pans. We had paid $120 that night for dinner, drinks, and tip which was extremely overpriced which is what every couple felt and why we all did not frequent the hotel restaurant. Lunch at the bar was great, but fish availability was hit or miss. I ordered fish for lunch on one occasion and it was outstanding, but every other day it was not available. The hotel needs consistent dining options which is a huge factor in enjoying this location as walking down the beach can be sketchy at times due to safety, especially in the evening. Something that seemed minor, but was an issue, was that the room's water at times did not work, but would come on later.

Perfect Resort! Stayed 03-28-17 to 04-04-17

Pros: Staff was very knowledgeable and responsive to guests wants and needs, going out of their way to make sure you are having a great vacation!
Cons: No complaints!
Location: Special thanks to J.D. (Fabian) for organizing our snorkeling tour with Captain Bambino (1-876-454-7559). BEST guide! Call him, you wont regret it!
First time in Jamaica. I can’t express how happy I am we stayed at Sandy Haven in Negril. I honestly don’t have a single complaint about Sandy Haven. Check-in/check-out with Katoya was a dream… Rum Punch on arrival and up to our room in no time. Large Room and balcony, modern and clean. Walk in shower, large 2 sink vanity, large closet area with working safe and 2 umbrellas. Blue Mountain coffee replenished daily :) Excellent housekeeping service, Thank you Meryl! Continental breakfast was great, we did order hot breakfasts a couple of times. Food was delicious, well presented and reasonably priced! We had snapper, lobster, shrimp, curry, my husband ate jerk something every day! A Big Thank you to Dwayne and Genoy for the excellent service and especially for the time and effort to make us feel like we were royalty! Linton at the beach bar (makes killer cocktails!) and Miss Sinclair enhance the resorts friendly environment. They are very caring to guests needs and always nice to chat with. I was touched by Miss Sinclair’s thoughtfulness on my birthday! The resort property is well manicured, private, clean. Pool and hot tub always clean and open. Always felt safe. Security on beach and at hotel front gate. Majority of resorts have security on the beach. We walked the beautiful beach day and night without issue. All staff deserve recognition for great service, but the above mentioned staff deserve an acknowledgment from their employer for their exceptional performance!

If you're seeking perfection...this is it!

Pros: Everything to be honest from the staff, to the grounds, to the delicious food. The look and amenities and the food was just what we were looking for.
Cons: Small touch ups here and there. I have a keen eye but most won't notice.
Location: There are a lot of great places to dine within walking distance. We tried a several location eateries and they were awesome!
My family and I truly loved this hotel. We traveled to 6 parishes and had an opportunity to see many resorts and the like. Sandy Haven by far stood out from the rest and we are so happy we chose it. The room was spacious, clean and had a world-class ocean view. Breakfast is served on the beach and the options were ideal. Try the Jamaican breakfast which was the best food I tasted while in this beautiful Country. Everything was fresh and you could taste the quality of the ingredients. The continental breakfast came with lovely fruits, breads and yummy fresh baked muffins and two drink options one of which was a mimosa. The staff was genuinely kind and sweet and so very helpful. The staff always went out of their way to assist us with anything we needed and made our stay contribute to one of the best vacations we have ever had. The beach was a dream!!!! We walked along the 7 mile beach and some resorts had very little sand for the guests to sit and some had limited water nearby but at Sandy Haven it was perfect plus they had plenty of beach chairs and beds. The overall hotel was classy and had a open air feel to it and we loved the look of it. Other resorts along the beach were kind of run down looking and not well maintained but this one was. Someone was always manicuring the grounds to make sure it was nice looking plus all the tropical flowers and plants just added to the atmosphere. I loved this place and have already begun recommending it to friends and family.

Great hotel more recent renovation. Bed very comfortable ESP compared to others in negril. Staff awesome and friendly. Perfect location. Adults without kids....perfect quiet break.

Rooms are spacious, clean. Some maintenance issues, staff tried to fix. Good food right at hotel. Appreciated security as they kept watch on beach area and outside. Bar area is nice, reasonable prices. Fitness center was huge disappointment, several pieces of equipment were not working. We walked the beach instead!

Best non-all-inclusive hotel on 7 mile beach!

We are so glad we chose this hotel for the last half of our vacation. We enjoy the local culture far too much to stay at the all-inclusives down the beach...and though you can find some nice properties on the cliffs, it's just not the same as walking out your patio door onto the white sand. I would highly recommend SH...you'll pay a pretty penny to stay here, but it's worth it!

Quiet and nice

Aside from a few issues we experienced it was a nice place. Friendly staff, decent food, nice room. Better than others... Not as good as some!
