Learn more about Neilton

Check out the local area in Neilton as you venture to sights like Olympic National Forest.

I was laying down with my phone last night and realised just how busy I've been recently because its been a minute since I put up anything. With moving, brothers wedding, moving him, and looking for jobs I've been run ragged. Hopefully things are starting to call back down for me.

While on hy 101 looking out at the pacific don't pass up a sign that simply says, "big cedar tree." About a half mile in and a small walk you come to this tree that looks like something out of the never ending story. Hollow inside walk in and look up. It's also a fun tree to climb if you want. I got about 30 feet up before I got scared and climbed back down.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Neilton?
The best area to stay in Neilton is directly within the town itself, particularly along US-101, as it serves as the primary hub for services and access to the surrounding natural attractions.

Neilton is a small, unincorporated community located on the Olympic Peninsula. It's characterized by its position on US-101, which runs directly through the center of town. This layout means accommodations, general stores, and any available dining options are conveniently situated along or just off this main road. The area is largely rural, with the town acting as a gateway to exploring the Olympic National Forest and nearby rivers.

For solo travelers or couples seeking a quiet base for outdoor adventures, staying in Neilton provides practical access. You'll find it easy to reach various trailheads for hiking or to access fishing spots on the nearby Quinault River.
When is the best time to go to Neilton?
For most travelers, the best time to visit Neilton is during the late spring and summer months, from June to September, when the weather is generally mild and dry.

During these months, you'll experience comfortable temperatures, typically ranging from the mid-60s to low 70s Fahrenheit, making it ideal for outdoor activities. This period also sees the least amount of rainfall, which is a significant factor given Neilton's location in a rainforest region. This makes it superb for those looking to explore the natural beauty of the area without the hindrance of heavy rain.

Families and outdoor enthusiasts will find this time particularly suitable. The trails in the nearby Olympic National Park, such as those leading to Lake Quinault, are more accessible, and conditions are excellent for hiking, fishing, and kayaking. Many local attractions and ranger-led programs are also in full swing during this peak season.
