Convenient location, tidy, good value for money
Convenient location, Friendly and helpful staff. Spacious rooms and kitchen facilities. However, the shower did not have a place to put the soap or shower gel, shampoo etc. Kitchen had very limited working space and the crockeries were too big for the provided kitchen space.

Wasn't aware from the website that our apartment was on the second floor with no lift access. Also no off street parking was a concern. The apartment was clean and comfortable and quiet.

Great location, town centre just around corner. Staff friendly and helpful. Window blinds bent and broken, but still worked, otherwise furnishings were fine. In middle of student area, but very quiet. Excellent value for money.

Lovely quaint apartment. Near the city center. Not used to being underneath ppl walking around which we could hear. Other than that beds were comfortable. Location was perfect.Limited parking available.

Worked well for a weekend away. We chose here for the location, as a 5 minute walk into the heart of the city center. A decent sized apartment, 2 separate rooms which we did not expect. We did not need the kitchen but it had 2 elements if you wanted to cook. Shower had lovely pressure. Very good price. Thanks for the stay, had a great time visiting Nelson and the surrrounds.

Checking out NMIT
This was so convenient. We were in Nelson to check out NMIT for our son, so was ideal. Close to town to get some dinner & have a look around. Fulfilled our purposes perfectly & gave him a chance to see what it would be like to live there.

Adequate, economical small apartment. All essentials covered, including sink, microwave & fridge. Good TV with basic channels, good working desk with powerpoint near. Without aircon it was hot and stuffy in small room. Windows could be opened but were directly onto walkway. A fan was provided (and i think a heater for colder nights)

This was a very noisey place/room and walls were paper thin. The room was dark and all I could here were other people’s doors opening and closing, plus I was next to the laundry which went all the time. I checked out a night early as I was so unimpressed.

One of the best accomodation I've been so far.
The room is clean and complete with amenities. The bed is comfortable. The staff is very friendly. It's close to shops & it's just next to NMIT.

An okay place to stay. Though a bit dark & gloomy. Better lighting would help but suspect operators are too busy saving costs!!! Had to prove TWICE that I’d prepaid; got questioned on check in and check out on this point. Manager even chased me out to car!

The apartment space was functional. The double beds were very small so not easy to sleep in if used to something bigger. The single bed was lumpy, you could feel the metal springs - so not good given the price. I would probably not stay here again because although the space was functional i.e the beds were clean, the sofas comfortable, there was nothing personal about the place, nothing loved. The bedrooms had no bedside tables, and no side lamps for example...just a bed in an empty room with cool blue-light utlitarian cieling lights. Not dissimilar to a cheap room in Bangkok, only for quite a lot more money!

This apartment was great and in a great spot. The only down side was that they didn’t have air conditioning in the rooms which meant on the hot nights we had to leave the windows open and being close to the motorway meant a lot of noise

Student accommodation for the polytechnic rented out during the summer break. Great location and value for money. Not sure the bathroom extraction worked, but otherwise no complaints. We would recommend as value no frills accommodation. Wifi wasn't that good.

I stayed for two nights. It was similar to staying in university accommodation. My room was by the front entrance. With the walls being paper thin, I could hear the door opening and closing 24/7. Dark small room. Clean, but missing some of the comforts needed to lift the standard. There was tea offered- but no milk. Friendly reception greeting and was quick to show me room and accommodation earlier. Blinds and curtains were worse for wear. Close to central shops.

While the apartments are in a great location a few things were lacking. For example the stove was very slow to heat up....the blinds were damaged and didn't close properly...there was an oven but no large baking dish. Cleanliness was excellent and the staff were very helpful. On arrival the gentleman on duty helped us carry our luggage to the third floor as there was no lift.

Close to the city and amenities, but had no air conditioning or fans. We had had 2 rooms and had to request for fans, which were all out because of the heatwave. They did find fans for us, but one of them didn't really work too well, so the rooms were quite suffocating inspite of the windows being open.

GREAT POSITION & ALL ROUND GREAT UNITS
Nikau Apartments in Nelson NZ, was a welcome surprise, both in location, about 3 blocks from the centre of town & the all round comfort & convenience. Our arrival on a very hot day, met with the office team going out & buying a fan for each room, otherwise we'd not have been able to sleep, NZ was having a most unusual heatwave. The unit is fully self contained, but there is also the convenience of a Thai a few doors away, a fish n chips around the corner & 2 coffee shops in between. I will highly recommend & definietly return to the NIkau Apts

Worst hotel
We were put in a self contained apartment which was fitted out for disabled people. The kitchen was at about our knee height. The room was dirty. The furniture and carpet were sticky and smelled. Could not walk around barefooted. It was such a shame because Nelson itself was an amazing town, quite a gem.

Excellent basic facilities and great location as it’s only a few minutes walk to the downtown area. Quiet location though as the place is on the local NMIT campus and is used by students commonly, it could get a little rowdy during semester but we were there when school was out so it’s perfect.

Excellent accommodation at a great price
These apartments are near the heart of the city so well located for an easy stroll around town. This was a 2 bedroom unit rated for 5 people consisting of 1 queen, 1 double and single. Contained a compact lounge and kitchenette with a largish TV, microwave,fridge.and bathroom with an excellent shower. The room was very comfortable, clean and tidy and situated on the ground floor corner so plenty of windows/light. It served our family well for our 1 night stay.
