    About this property

A Wimberley Cabin in the Woods

    Romantic vacation home in Wimberley
A cabin in the woods. This cozy cabin sits in the middle of nowhere, it seems. It is about 20 minute drive to downtown Wimberley. 15 minute drive to Jacob's Well. You can hear the birds sing during the day and see the stars so close at night. This is a great place to get away from the busy Austin and just be with yourself and nature. It is great for kids and pets. The kitchen is fully equipped with all you need to cook. Pack your bag and get out there. There is wifi but some phone services might not work in or outside of the cabin. I have AT&T and get LTE signal and phone signals. I have tried T-Mobile and I didn't get any signal, phone or data. Water at the cabin is potable watered delivered from Dripping Springs. Please be conservative. The silver unit on the countertop is a water purification system. All waters in pitchers and bottles are purified for drinking, cooking, and coffee making. The water in the bottom silver compartment is also purified. If you run out of drinking water, add more tap water to the top compartment. Be careful to not overflow it. For example, if the bottom compartment is 1/3 full with water, only fill the top half way so it won't overflow once purified. The system is designed to filter and purify the water. Extra blankets are in the closet and the dresser. Twin beddings for the couches are in the dresser. The queen air mattress is in the closet in the bedroom straight down the stairs. Bedding for air mattress is in the closet in the other bedroom. There are 3 AC units in the house. Please close the bedroom doors when the AC in the living room is on to maximize the unit. ACs are also working as heaters. When it is very cold or very hot, it will cool/heat the house faster when turning all units on and open all doors. When going to bed, please try to close the bedroom doors to keep the air in and turn off the living room unit. Thank you for conserving energy. In a colder months, leaving all units on will be better. One thing to note, it is a cabin in the woods, so bugs are common. Daddy long legs call the surrounding home. A few get into the cabin here and there. I have found scorpions only coming up from the kitchen sink. Since I put strainers down, I have not seen them or sometimes will see them under the strainers. A guest has spotted one in the bathroom. Be careful when removing the strainer. This is only a problem in summer time. Use tongs to lift them up or be careful.
Air-conditioned accommodations at this vacation home offer fireplaces and DVD players. Rooms open to patios. Kitchens offer refrigerators, stovetops, microwaves, and separate dining areas.

The cabin was wonderful as was the property owner, very helpful and eager to accommodate. Would recommend to anyone staying in the hill country.

        An ideal getaway

The "Cabin in the Woods" is a perfect blend of seclusion and simplicity. Whether you are looking for a place to get away and relax, or a "home base" to use while exploring the Hill Country, this an equally ideal location. We found the cabin comfortable, easy to access and a welcome respite for our time away. It was well-equipped for simple meal-prep and is had plenty of space to relax inside. We arrived a bit later than planned due to some traffic delays on a very cold and rainy day, and were grateful to receive a message from Jam saying the heat was already on and ready for us, which made our arrival all the more welcoming. If you are looking for a place to stay on a trip to the Wimberley area, be sure to consider this one.

Great secluded location. Perfect for a weekend getaway from the city

Cabin was exactly as advertised. My wife our 2 kids, our puppy and myself loved it! Even got to see some wildlife!

            A Perfect Getaway

I had the pleasure of staying at fantastic cabin for a quick getaway. Its perfectly located for a quiet, peaceful stay but still only around 30 minutes from several different towns which offer plenty of day trip options. Upon arriving at the cabin and first walking in its more breathtaking than the pictures even show. Tall ceilings with sunlight coming in, plenty of windows for natural light, and set up with a great open floor plan. I knew from just looking at the listing I would love the kitchen but it exceeded expectations! We had access to everything we needed for our stay as the house is very well looked after. You can tell that the owner pays attention to the small details to make sure you have a great stay. It was also incredibility easy to communicate as needed though we didn't have any issues during our stay! We hope to visit again as soon as possible as it was such a pleasant experience.

              Remote & Peaceful

My wife, 7 month old, and I had a great stay this past weekend. The house is beautifully set up with naturalistic decor that ties you in to the beautiful setting around you. The AC units and ceiling fans really keep the place cool once you get them all going. I was worried about that before arriving as I am not a native Texan and don't generally handle the heat all that well. My favorite part of the house was the amount of windows letting in the sunlight and the ability to wake up with the sunrise and from bed be able to peer out into the woods surrounding the home. We did find a few eight-legged friends in various places throughout the stay, but that's to be expected I think as the home sits in the woods unoccupied from time to time. The house is a 20 minute drive from civilization (Wimberley) which isn't bad, but its certainly not right in town or anything. Altogether we really enjoyed our stay and Jam is very nice and easy to communicate with. Thank you Jam for the great experience! -Mike
