The elevators were questionable as far as safety due to Felt like cables were about to break off, also smell like urine in the elevators, the hallway smell like really bad smoke, noise of animals, whining at three 4 o’clock in the morning didn’t help as well also, I’m a disabled veteran and they placed me on the sixth floor of the building and when the elevators broke down, I had to walk all the way up to six floors when I asked for a first floor vacancy, I guess if you wanted a cheap room and you’re pinching pennies then sure you can stay there, but I will not be staying there again, The only reason why I did stay there is because it was conveniently close to where my family lives, Next time I’ll just drive an extra five minutes

Bed and shower were fine - Lobby consists of some chairs and a coffee station - hotel allows smoking in some areas along with pets so you'll smell that and hear occasional barking. Decent enough accommodations for the price however, there's a bit of a bug issue so make sure to keep your luggage, etc closed up when not getting stuff out and off the floor is better.

This was an awful experience, I had reservations for two nights. When you walk in there’s a smell. Is smelled bad. The bed was so hard it felts like laying on a cardboard box. Get up Saturday to go and our rental car is GONE!!! Find the police and they say check with the hotel it was probably towed… what?!?!? Go to the front desk and they say yes and tell us to call. Why won’t you call and confirm we were actual paying hotel guests. We call D&L Auto Body and they tell us we have to come get the car and pay them. Are you serious!?!?! We check in at 1 am and up to go at 9 am and our car is GONE!! Gone off the property we’re renting from and the don’t try to retrieve it for us. We had to check out and not chance having our car stolen again. This was a big scamming trade off between this hotel and tow company. Just so wrong.

I did not stay there. They demanded an extra $50 per person extra at the desk. They also demanded the ID of my sister staying with me, even though she was not a part of the transaction. I thought that I had secured the room with my credit card, but looking at my bank statement, it turns out I paid for that room. I would like a refund because the price displayed on Hotels.com was not the price of the room.

It's a Homeless Shelter
When we arrived, it was clear that this Red Roof Inn in New Britain (not Hartford!) doubles as a homeless shelter. Children were running up and down the halls at 11 p.m. Our room didn't even have a small refrigerator. YIKES. I was afraid our car might be stolen the area was so unsafe. (It wasn't).

The worst experience ever. Rude staff and one came and barricaded my door and wouldn’t let close it. It was extremely frightening! He was upset bc he loaned me a lighter and I didn’t return it when he thought I should. He beat on my door at 6 am and threatened to not return my deposit if he didn’t get his lighter. The lady in the morning was very condescending and snarky. She made me feel like I was a problem and inconveniencing her. She laughed in my face when I was obviously upset. Contact with the manager was unsuccessful, and I am extremely disgusted with the lack of professionalism all around. BE BETTER HUMANS!!

Constant smell of tobacco & weed. There is a 1/2 inch gap under the door and it was in our nonsmoking room the entire stay. We couldn’t wait to leave in the morning. I also killed a bug crawling across my suitcase. Thankfully it was closed. I would never recommend this spot.

Please look at my review on Google (my name is Jamie Unger) for a detailed report on my horrible experience at the Red Roof Inn, with multiple images included. This hotel was a never-ending nightmare. I had my room switched 3 times because I encountered so many problems. My first room had a broken shower that was leaking water into my bedroom, followed by roaches coming out of the bathroom. The second room was just absolutely disgusting. The mattresses looked like a crime scene. Blood stains and other foreign substances saturated them, and they didn't even have the decency to put on a mattress protector. The third room was fine. It was missing a remote but I got a replacement. After I checked-out I couldn't find my car in the parking lot. They towed my car because the slip I put on my dashboard "wasn't visible enough" and had to pay $170 to get my car back. Then after I got home 2 Bounty Hunters knocked on my door trying to arrest a woman named "Randy". Apparently she used my ID and my likeness at the Red Roof/ Auto-Body shop. These are the only 2 places I showed my ID too, I don't know how she was able to access my information. This place is corrupt, unsafe, unsanitary, and has no maintenance. Completely unacceptable. Staying here made my life a living hell.

I was told we would have adjoining rooms...they dont have any. Found out when we got there. Asked for extra comforters to make a place for mu son to sleep. Never for any. Asked for extra pillows for one of my guest with a mesical condition, and had security called on me. I was told that people who ask for extra stuff are trying to steal...this was in a lobby full of people. Also, there was a mouse trap hidden under one of the beds. When i called customer service to complain, the property, of course, lied.

I said "Good afternoon" to the desk clerk upon arrival and she replied, "What's good about it." She did provide good service thereafter...even if without a smile.
