Absolutely awful facilityPosted Jun 29, 2015
There were leaks everywhere, in the halls and the rooms. The elevator was barely functional, the sheets looked used, the bed sagged, and the area did not look safe. Folks were hanging out in the parking lot, and we worried our vehicle would be broken into, so brought everything into the room. Slept in our clothes with socks on to avoid touching the carpet. Afraid to eat the breakfast, ants on the toaster. Must say the staff were very nice.

Stinky roomPosted Jun 11, 2015 on Hotels
The first room i was given had a pungant smell and I when i asked about it, the hotel employee asked me if I had opened the window to air out the room. I then asked for a new room.

The hotel needs a update. Would NOT recommendPosted May 24, 2015
Pros: close proximately to Fairfield graduation
Cons: Needs total upgrade
Location: location good
Hallways were dirty. Elevator floor tile was cracked - should be replaced immediately. Our room was issued 1 face cloth - 2 hand towels a 1 bath towel......not enough for 2 people. Breakfast selection poor. Hotel seemed understaffed with check in ....waited at counter for clerk to arrive.

DupedPosted May 23, 2015 on Hotels
The Stratford Hotel is an absolutely horrible facility. On Friday, May 15, my plans had changed quickly and I needed to find accommodations in the Bridgeport-New Haven area. I called Hotels.com and was told that there was availability at the Stratford Hotel and it was rated a"3". I made reservations as I trusted the rating from Hotels.com. This was a big mistake. Upon entering the hotel, it was dirty and looked abandoned. Carpets were dirty, landscaping neglected and situated in a warehouse/industrial neighborhood. The room was Spartan, The air conditioner was very noisy and there were cigarette ashes on the night stand. One towel had small hairs on it and it was re-used. I left as quickly as I could the next morning and I intend to talk to your customer service to verbally report the horrible conditions of this hotel. I would rate this hotel a "one" out of ten. Disgusting place and I was clearly duped into paying $120 per night. Do not stay at the Stratford Hotel. IT SUCKS!

NEVER AGAIN!Posted May 20, 2015 on Hotels
This was absolutely the worst hotel stay I have had in my entire life. The room was dirty and had never been vacuumed. The parking lot was full of glass and potholes. There was a gentleman working on a motorcycle at the back entry - gas fumes could be smelled and he had a lit cigarette in his mouth. The parking area for trucks was overflowing and trucks were all over the parking lot. The front staff seem aloof and very unconcerned about the nature of my stay. I stopped in the lounge/restaurant for a snack in the afternoon and was told that the chef had left and there was no indication when he/she would return. The coffee pot was missing from the room. The toilet paper was not on the holder - it was just sitting on the bathroom vanity. Several of the lights in the room were out or extremely dim.

You decide.Posted May 19, 2015 on Hotels
Everything was OK. First room AC did not work. Next room, 4th floor, internet was barely functional. Was told the hotel needs a booster for the 4th floor. Really? then install it. In this day and age there is not excuse for poor internet. Staff were responsive, helpful, but place needs a facelift. Price was fair for what it was. Clean and bed was comfortable.
