Best host who was helpful, resourceful & caring. Place is a bit dated but host made everything useful & functional. Host is a great chef. Nearby to town center.

Cheap and cheerfulPosted Nov 24, 2015 on Wotif
Cons: Air con, restaurant opening hours
Location: Salmon Ponds nearby.
Old motel which has been freshened up with a coat of paint on everything, floors walls etc in bathroom, bed heads, top of toilet cistern. No air con, the sliding fly screen door was off its runners, and the restaurant wasn't open. If you want to eat in, check opening hours carefully. The manager TIm was a very pleasant chap, and was extremely helpful. Have said "yes" to "would you recommend this place to a friend" but only as an overnight stay, and only if on a budget. Was very clean which was good.

Quiet Motel, close to townPosted Nov 17, 2015 on Wotif
Pros: quite and clean
Cons: the floors in the bathroom are a diy job, functional but obvious
Location: New Norfolk is about 30mins from Hobart - shopping . Also close to Mt Field National Park - walking. The Rivers Run area is pretty as well.
Motel staff were great, gave us all kinds of information on what to do in the area and also ideas for dinner. This can be a cool area at night, there were plenty of blankets and heaters to keep us warm. Good basic clean facilities. over all a very pleasant stay, for a good price.

Lovely Charming Motel & Pretty AreaPosted Nov 8, 2015 on Hotels
Had to seek out the receptionist (host) was painting furniture with his very pleasant music blaring ... but all great !! Once we got to the check in bit very informative with great recommendations on the town and things to do and see in the area, which we did all of! Queen room was comfy and functional. This motel is not brand new but the owners have used funky furniture and bright clean accessories to make this a charming stay with room for a lounge for a read of the paper and table and chairs for catching up on a bit of business in the evening with the free WiFi. We had a lovely day exploring the area with Whiskey tasting, salmon farm, both worth a visit, small kids will love feeding the salmon and can get up close, and even took the drive out to Gordon Dam (that probably wasn't worth the long drive as its no longer in use and very run down around the top but you can walk down the stairs to the wall and cross if you wish to) a great day out sightseeing. Lovely flat walk from the motel round to the sporting ground along the river which was great even took in some of the locals playing cricket fixtures. Great hosts and would recommend and stay again.

Great place to stay, not far from anythingPosted Oct 25, 2015 on Wotif
Pros: the location and the great staff.
Cons: make the beds more secure.
Location: New norfolk is just up the hill less than a minute drive, great cafe's,the derwent river is nearby,Ski fields and National parks is within an hour awa
The food at the restaurant was excellent, the staff were very helpful, the only bad remarks is that the beds were on wheels ad they kept rolling away and you would loose the pillows, other than that i would easily recommend it for short or long stays,we stayed for 9 nights.
