The hotel was in the French Quarter, close to everything. The Valet Parking and Check-in staff were wonderful!

Nice hotel, but check-in experience was awful

Location: On the corner of Bourbon and Canal
Found out at 2 PM that check-in starts at 4, no precheck or other accommodations. "Check-in at 4 PM" means a line starts forming in the lobby about 3:30. When I got there at 3:45, I had a check-in wait of almost an hour. For this price-point, I find an hour wait for check-in unacceptable.

Will never stay there again

Pros: Rate was affordable with access to several good restaurants
Cons: Safe was broken, money was stolen from our room and security did nothing about it. Flushing system was broken. Hotel needs serious maintenance
While the location is very good, our stay there was very unpleasant. When we checked in, we noticed that the safe in our room wasn't working and reported it but they couldn't fix it. We went out and came back to find that some money was stolen from my bag. We reported it but never heard back or got updates. The hotel restaurant is a rip off, and within a few hours after we left, a shooting happened that left one dead and 9 injured. Very rough neighborhood. They tried to charge us for parking even though we didn't have a car!!!!!

Got locked out of room after 3 trips down to front desk and 3 security guards they had to fix the lock 40 minutes later in room still would stay again I love this place have stayed here over a dozen times

Nice hotel, right on the French quarter.

Pros: Nice clean rooms with modern climate control systems.
Cons: Same thing about every hotel. more towels. Also, they charge for double occupancy. Some places don't.
Location: You're downtown right on the french quarter so you don't need a car to get around. There is plenty to do and see for day.
We wanted a hotel within walking distance of the French quarter. This hotel is right on Canal and Burbon street. Winning!

Pros: staff
Cons: put a HUGE discount on rooms like 628 and make sure the in room safes are working
Location: location, location, location with the Astor Crown Plaza...perfect to everything going on in the French Quarter.
we just returned from New Orleans and our stay at the Astor Crown Plaza. Hotel is beautiful and clean. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. While the room was very nice, clean and comfortable we had a view of (what I believe to be )huge heating/cooling duct work atop a brick wall. Terrible view. Our room also backed up to the elevators so we listened to those all night/early morning and our in room safe did not work. While the hotel supplied us with a safety deposit box you don't realize how nice it is to access your own valuables until you have to go to the check in desk and wait for security to access your box. Please note that had we had a working safe and a better view and location (elevators) of our room my "room comfort" would have been a 5

We had no problems all all. Exceeded my expectations by far! Everyone was very friendly and helpful and took care if anything we needed. Very nice, clean hotel! Would stay there again with out a doubt and would recommend to anyone.
