This hotel is in a great location for all things New Orleans. You are a trolley ride away from the excitement of the French Quarter, yet surrounded by the beauty and peacefulness of the Uptown area of New Orleans. The Inn is beautiful and the hosts were very friendly and generous. I would recommend the Avenue Inn to anyone looking for a more authentic stay in New Orleans.

Nice Facility and Great LocationPosted Sep 29, 2015
Pros: Size and cleanliness of rooms. Modern amenities in a very nice historic home. Great locations convenient to downtown and the Garden District.
Location: Trolley stop right outside.
I have visited New Orleans a few times now because my daughter is going to College at Loyola University. I am not much on staying in the hustle and bustle of the French Quarter and Bourbon Street, but this place gives you the best of all worlds. The Avenue Inn is a very nice facility with very spacious and comfortable rooms. Free WIFI is a plus. It is very convenient to restaurants, shops, local colleges, and all the Garden District has to offer, is only a short trolley ride from the French Quarter and other downtown attractions. I loved being close enough to everything, but also being able to relax and unwind in a nice relaxing residential atmosphere. The owners and staff at the Avenue Inn were very accommodating and attentive. We came in after midnight, which was not a problem. We were frequently asked if we needed anything or if there was any way they could assist us. I found the decor and family artifacts in the house to be very interesting. I am sure we will be back during my daughter's college days in New Orleans. We had a wonderful stay.

A Perfect NOLA Garden District B&B ExperiencePosted Sep 12, 2015
Pros: The personal care and attention you receive form the inn keeper is unlike that of what you will get at a hotel.
Location: Access to all the places you want to be is easy via the streetcar that stops in front of the B&B.
For those of us who don’t live in one of those beautiful mansions on St. Charles Ave. this is your opportunity to experience the grandeur of southern living. The rooms with their high ceilings and huge windows overlook the streetcar line. Homemade breads are baked fresh daily for breakfast and there are many restaurants and bars in the surrounding area. Staying at the Avenue Inn Bed and Breakfast gives you a completely different New Orleans experience. It is one of culture and elegance in the Uptown/Garden District. It may be a short cab or streetcar ride the French Quarter but it feels like you are in another city.

Excellent B&B Close to Loyola and TulanePosted Jun 20, 2015
Pros: We enjoyed the authentic period rooms and a lavish continental breakfast in a dining room with a wide variety of guests.
Cons: For what we required, the inn lacked nothing.
Location: Street car, dining and fine dining are local, and the Loyola and Tulane campuses and the Audubon Park are easily accessed from St. Charles St.
Very gracious owners concerned about our welfare and safety during the trip. Joe and his wife have created a great resting place right on St. Charles with all the amenities of home.

Southern HospitalityPosted Jun 1, 2015 on Hotels
Unique property in a great location on the tram line. You do not need a car if you stay here. A big comfy room matches the gregarious personality of the Avenue Inn host. Joe will tell you stories, recommend tours, steer you to the finest restaurants, put out an awesome breakfast and bake you fresh cookies.

Classic New Orleans bed and breakfast innPosted Mar 4, 2015 on Hotels
Lovely inn, well-located on a street car line, with excellent hospitality. I would stay here again without hesitation. The front porch, complete with rocking chairs, is to die for.

Stay here. You won't regret it.Posted Dec 30, 2014
Pros: Friendly staff, nice location, streetcar stop right outside, beautiful building
My wife and I stayed at the Avenue Inn in December 2014. After spending a couple of days looking online for hotels and bed & breakfasts, I settled on the Avenue Inn because of its excellent reviews on Yelp and elsewhere. The reviews are completely accurate and I don't have one negative thing to save about the Avenue Inn. Joe and Bebe were welcoming, friendly and went out of their way to make sure we were well looked after. Even though we arrived on Christmas Day, they offered to call us a cab to take us to dinner and took time to tell us about New Orleans, the Avenue Inn, and some of the tours we could do. We only had breakfast there twice but both times it was very good. They offer a continental breakfast that included pastries, coffee cake, apples, bananas, toast and bagels, and the usual coffee and fruit juice. They also offer free bottles of water and other snacks (granola bars, fruit cups etc.) that are available at any time. The Inn's location was perfect for us because, although we liked visiting the French Quarter, we didn't want the noise and hustle and bustle of sleeping there. There is a streetcar stop right outside that will take you into the French Quarter. The New Orleans Hamburger & Seafood Restaurant next door was also surprisingly decent but, as it's a chain, you'll find better places in the French Quarter. You'll find cheaper places than the Avenue Inn in New Orleans but I doubt you will find many better.

Awesome place to stay in New OrleansPosted Dec 23, 2014
Pros: The location with a trolley stop out the front door and the historic feeling of this old but well kept Inn.
Location: Trolley stop out in front, what more is there to say?
We had a great time in New Orleans the weekend before Christmas 2014. The staff was very friendly, accomodating and helpful. The room was comfortable and clean with charming antique furnishings that really fit with the age and style of the Inn. The location, with nice restaurants within an easy walk as well as a trolley stop out front, really couldn't be beat from my perspective.
