Name of Hotel caused problem

Posted Jan 18, 2017
Pros: The staff are very friendly and the room was quite spacious with 2 double beds, a small couch, microwave, kureg coffee maker and TV.
Cons: The air conditioner had trouble cooling the room at first but that just may have been the adjustments on the unit.
Location: It is super close to the Treasure Island river boat gaming, there are numerous local dining and cafe's along the main boulevard to the hotel.
There are 2 airport Hilton Hotels in New Orleans; one near the airport as someone may expect on Airline Hwy and the other about15 minutes North located near one of the casino river boat gambling sites. lf you are not paying attention when making the reservation like myself you will end up at the wrong hotel. My evening began with pulling into the wrong hotel where I really wanted to stay and being told: oh it's the other airport Hilton and this happens all the time. To say the least after driving 3 hours on Interstate 10 I wasn't very happy but in the end it was my fault for looking at the street address. In any case the Hilton Garden Inn Airport was a nice hotel but not as nice as the Airport Hilton. The lobby was nice and the staff were friendly. The dining options are not as polished as the Airport Hilton on Airline Highway but parking was free, so there's that. The quality of the dining fair was above average so even though I ended up at the wrong Hilton, it was not a bad second choice. The surroundings aren't much to look at since their is construction next door but for a comfortable night or two it is a great choice.

Nice hotel, close to NOLA

Posted Dec 26, 2016
No problems at all, Was in town for a wedding, and didn't want to battle the bustle of NOLA. We stayed out of town and this place was nice and very clean.

Cheerful, helpful staff!

Posted Oct 18, 2016
Pros: The staff made you feel very welcome. Front desk staff, maintenance crew and housekeeping all were very cheerful and greeted us with a smile.
Cons: Parking lot was small and not very easy to accommodate several cars trying to get to parking spaces. Not very pleasant view from room window.
Location: Location was great for going to the Treasure Chest casino. Also was quiet and away from main traffic areas.
Lobby and room was clean and aesthecally pleasing to the eye. Very welcoming.

Thumbs down!!!!

Posted Oct 17, 2016
Arrived at 3pm, to check in. Room was not available until 3:40p.m, receptionist was not very nice about it, even suggested, I should have called first. Checked in room , was very cold, which was nice. Room was not well cleaned. Bathroom was in need of repairs, remodeling, complete overhaul etc. Toilet, was very unstable, floor was peeling, shower head was broken w/ a squeaky loud noise.tub was very old, sealant leaving away from tub surround. Ceiling had old leak stains and current leak stains, current one next to light fixture, which was a fire Hazzard. As , I left to check out, a big cockroach was outside my door. Very nice hotel, as you walk in. The lobby was pretty and comfortable. The lobby will fool you. The rooms were dated, in need of serious repairs and not well maintained at all. .

Pros: the front desk & staff
Cons: you need to do something to prevent slips and falls in the tub
the room was fair. we had a problem every day we had to get the keys redone. the bath tub had no rubber mat or slip resistance strips and I fell in & out of the tub . overall the front desk staff was outstanding, kind ,hospitable .

Emergency Response Lacking

Posted Jun 24, 2016
Cons: In case of an emergency hotel staff should let the guests know what's going on.
While the hotel was quite nice I did have a bit of an unpleasant experience during my stay. At about 10PM on Saturday evening (June 18) the fire alarms in the hotel sounded. Normally when this happens in a hotel there is an announcement made in the hallway advising guests if they should evacuate or if it is a false alarm. There was no announcement so I went down the stairs to the outside.of the building as did most other guests. The fire dept arrived and then police arrived and entered the hotel but none of the hotel staff advised the guests what was happening. Although there didn't appear to be a fire, the fire alarms kept sounding periodically. Eventually the firemen came out of the building but still no one from the hotel advised what was happening or whether we could return to our rooms. I stayed in the lobby until about midnight & then returned to my room when the policemen advised that there had been a domestic disturbance on the 3rd floor which had been resolved but which apparently was not related to the fire alarm problem. The fire alarm went off again several times during the night . There was never an explanation by the hotel nor offer of compensation for our inconvenience. I have a reservation to return to this hotel in September but am reconsidering my reservation.

Graduation 2016

Posted May 28, 2016
Pros: We enjoyed the seating areas in and out of the hotel. Really enjoyed seeing the ducks in and around the pool area.
Cons: We were comfortable, felt welcome, had a clean room, and friendly staff; so I didn't look for anything to complain about.
From the time we got to hotel, we had the help of staff in getting luggage onto cart and into the hotel. Check in went smooth. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Looking forward to going back in the future.

Easy Access to New Orleans & Metairie

Posted May 4, 2016
I stayed at this location for a cheer competition in the NOLA. Considering it being JazzFest week, the prices were great. I did not care for the breakfast buffet however the staff at this location were the best
