Horrible beds

Posted Feb 17, 2018
The hotel is in an excellent location close to the waterfront and most places of interest but I’ve not had a comfortable rest the four nights I spent there. My back is extremely sore. Mattress sinks in a hole. Manager said we could check out and move to another hotel. Horrible sleeping conditions. I was miserable from lack of sleep.

Walking distance to French Quarter

Posted Feb 15, 2018
Friendly, effecient staff. The handle on our shower was broken and they had someone there to fix it in about 15 minutes after I reported it. More soft lighting at rooftop pool/hot tub area would be nice. Overall a great experience!

Good location and well trained staff

Posted Feb 15, 2018
Pros: Staff was superb!
Cons: More complete restaurant.
Location: Already mentioned in opening statement.
We found this location to be an easy walk to several good attractions like the WWII museum, Mardi Gras World and the convention center. It was also close to a couple of street car lines and well served by the taxi companies,Uber, etc. I would have liked a more complete restaurant but it offered a very complete buffet for breakfast and service was friendly and efficient due in part I think to Jason who seemed to be running things. This is not a fancy hotel to be compared to a Hyatt Regency, Sheraton, or upscale private hotel but it was very adequate for the price.

Stayed for a long weekend leading up to Fat Tuesday. Staff was friendly, check in was easy, and we were able to check our bags until our room was ready, which was earlier than we had anticipated! Coffee in the room and in the lobby is always a nice accommodation. The room was clean and the king size bed was very comfy!

Great location

Posted Jan 29, 2018
A block from Cochan and Wood, two great restaurants, and a 5 minute drive to cafe du monde. Oh did I forget, the large parking garage is across the street, and I can see my cruise ship from my room. Best way to start any trip

Hotel camping in New Orleans

Posted Jan 23, 2018
Pros: Comfortable bed. Decent location.
Cons: Upgrade the water supply to be less dependent on the city. We found out late in our stay that other hotels had private supplies and weren't affected.
Location: Close to the convention center and walking distance to many restaurants and attractions.
The hotel didn't meet my usual expectations for this brand. The lobby and room had unpleasant smells, the carpets were worn, and the towel racks had been removed from the bathroom. But the worst part was having NO WATER FOR 4 DAYS! From the moment we arrived until we left, we had no running water in our room. No shower. No toilet. No running water in the sink. I primarily blame it on the City of New Orleans for having a woefully inadequate water distribution system such that a couple of days below freezing before we arrived could cripple the supply. And the issue was so poorly communicated by the city that we initially had no idea what the problem was or when it would be fixed. The hotel distributed hand sanitizer and a couple of water bottles each day, and brought a bucket of water if requested to help flush the toilet. But that was a pretty minimal effort, and they offered nothing further (e.g., a discount, future stay, free meal) to offset the bad experience. I rated a 2 out of 5 because the front desk attendants remained pleasant despite dealing with annoyed guests, the bed was comfortable, and the water issue wasn't under the hotel's control.

Excellent Staff

Posted Jan 11, 2018
It was a great week at the Hilton Garden Inn. The staff was superb Nathan, Chad, and Kevin were excellent and always greeted us and asked if we needed anything. The front desk clerks were awesome in giving tips that saved us a bunch in New Orleans. This staff needs to Be commended for their efforts and always making their customers feel welcome. From North Carolina to the Big Easy until next time....
