Half of the TV channels didn't work. Heard other guests complaining of same thing. There a week never fixed. One of the days a wet cleaning rag left in the room and they didn't even make the bed when they cleaned. Front desk staff bored and uninterested.

Nice hotel, friendly staff

Posted Jan 6, 2016
Pros: Cleanliness and friendliness of the staff
Cons: N/A
Location: I do wish the hotel was a bit closer to the French Quarter, but the walk was manageable.
I had never been to New Orleans before this last trip and so I was unsure of where to stay. I made a reservation at the Holiday Inn because it was recognizable and I have stayed at many others before and have not had any issues. That being said, I would definitely recommend this hotel to a friend. The staff was friendly and helpful. My room was spacious and clean. We were able to use the gym while we were there (which was helpful because we ran in a road race during our trip, so having some time to prepare was convenient). The gym is not large, but it was sufficient for what we wanted. The hotel does serve breakfast for those who are looking for that option, though it is not free unfortunately. It is nice and offers sit down options though. We were able to order omelettes and french toast that were good quality. I did wish the hotel was closer to the French Quarter. The walk is manageable but it did take us approx. 20 min or so. We did attend the Sugar Bowl though and it was very close to the M. Benz Superdome Lastly, we were able to leave our bags in the hotel even after our checkout. I booked a flight that was later in the afternoon in order to make the most out of vacation and the concierge was very understanding and allowed us to leave our bags with him while we explored the rest of the city on our last day there. This may seem like a little thing, but it was helpful because we did not have to drag all of our things with us while trying to enjoy the time we had left.

Close to bourbon but quiet spot

Posted Jan 4, 2016
Short walk to bourbon st, streetcars, French market, riverwalk outlets. It's in a quiet area but with some nice restaurants to the left of canal st away from bourbon st. The outdoor pool was warm too in the middle of winter which was great!

You're absolutely right, our downtown location warrants a nice escape from the eventful French Quarter area, but is still close enough to the action to stay involved. Thank you for acknowledging our inviting heated rooftop pool as well. We greatly appreciate your time to share such wonderful comments, come back and see us soon!

Pros: The location and comfort of the room.
Location: The distance to other neighborhoods was convenient for the price.
Easy to walk to French quarter and downtown area. The price of the hotel was great, we really got our money's worth.

Every Hotel Should Have Hot Water, and Limit Noise

Posted Jan 2, 2016
Pros: The location and convenient walk to the French Quarter, and restarants.
Cons: Every Hotel should have ample hot water. Given the cost I will not stay again. I expect that I should be able to take a hot shower at all times.
Location: A bit far from major attractions, but not bad if you don't mind walking. I was impressed by recent development and improvements in the area.
Surprisingly nice hotel, given its location in what was once a questionable area in terms of safety. It was well within walking distance of attractions, and good restaurants. However, there was a lot of noise in the room - sirens were constantly heard - whether fire trucks or ambulances - and on the day of checkout we could not shower, as all of the hot water had been used up apparently, by other guests.

Please accept our sincere apology for the hot water issue encountered. It was an extenuating circumstance that unfortunately happened twice in a short period of time. Our Engineering team worked as quickly as possible to address the concern, and we deeply regret the negative affect it had on your stay. As we are located in the downtown area of a metropolis we always recommend a taxi after dark and to stay alert when walking anywhere in the city. No matter where your travels may take you, we hope you will consider these precautions. However, this section is well on its way to becoming a little Paris in the heart of our city with French roots. Projects are in the works to bring about a lifestyle of convenience and opportunity for our authentic community. Construction of retail and living, added green space and walkability, and increased safety open endless possibilities for residents and visitors! Thank you for noticing, and we hope you will reconsider giving us a second chance. Your business and feedback are greatly valued.

Excelente para juego de los Saints

Posted Dec 31, 2015

Great way to burn off all the calories

Posted Dec 25, 2015
Pros: I liked the price and the staff were excellent.
Cons: Change the carpets in the room. They are old and dingy.
Location: Location is excellent. Tram goes by the hotel and you are 19 minutes to all the fun.
If you want the peace and quiet of staying out of the French Quarter but want to be close to the action, this is an excellent place to stay. You are approximately 19 minutes out walking to the French Quarter. On the way is Daisy Dukes for food 24/7. So is PJ coffee shop. You can stuff yourself and then walk back to the hotel and burn all those calories off. You max taxi cost is 10 bucks from anywhere in the French quarter. The trams go right past the hotel which is even cheaper. Good price for excellent location.

hotel close to streetcars

Posted Dec 24, 2015
Pros: we usually stay at Holiday Inn Hotel since they are well known and clean and used by a lot of travelers.
Cons: restaurant staff explain if eggs cost more or not with buffet
Location: restaurants Huck Finn, Desire, Deanies, Oceania,
bathroom issue first morning and taken care of promptly. The view from the 16th floor balcony was disappointing since heavy construction going on at the next vacant building early and late most days so we didn't use the balcony to view any nice sites of New Orleans. The door was off track and my husband decided not to say anything since we weren't using the balcony. Room clean and housekeeping was helpful for more coffee pods and any questions we had. Too cold to use the pool area which was nice. Used the gym only one day and was good.
