Quiet Retreat yet Close to the Action

Posted Sep 4, 2015
Pros: The staff was simply amazing.
Cons: Limited reception WiFi access
Location: Perfect location in the French Quarter with Bourbon steps away, great creole/cajun food just around the corner & all major tourist sites close by
We really enjoyed our weekend get away in NOLA and a big part of that was the hotel staff at Hotel Le Marais. Pierre at the front desk was a welcomed host of knowledge and suggestions to go eat, the room was beautiful, the complimentary breakfast delicious and the bartender the BEST.

The staff, rooms (bed was super comfy), breakfast and location was perfect for what we wanted. Short trip to get away, relax, eat some good food, listen to go music and have some drinks!

Courtyard is a great hangout

Posted Aug 23, 2015
The location of this hotel is everything it promises to be, in the heart of the French Quarter steps from Bourbon Street. The hotel staff were very friendly. The bar has great drinks and the courtyard (with pool and plenty of lounging space) provides a breezy and surprisingly quiet reprieve from the busy FQ. We used the gym a couple of times, it was totally fine for a basic workout. Breakfast was better than any "continental" I've had before. The hotel provides unlimited bottles of water, which saves some money. We rented the regular, run-of-the-mill room, which was tight on space. Room cleaning was daily but wasn't as good as it could be (e.g. bathroom sink not wiped down fully, no vacuum throughout our 5 night stay). If we returned to New Orleans, my husband and I (we are 30) both agreed we would stay outside of the French Quarter. It's fun for a night or two but the better restaurants and sights are elsewhere. We thought this hotel was a bit pricey for what we got.

Small place in the French Quarter

Posted Aug 23, 2015
Hotel me Merais in smack in the middle of the French Quarter. That's both good and bad: it is literally around the corner from Brennan's, one block over from Bourbon street, and just a few blocks from Jackson Square. But night time is crazy outside on the streets. Inside however, it is quiet, the staff is gracious, and our view into the courtyard pool was lovely. The complimentary breakfast was pretty standard but it was convenient and appreciated.

Quite nice. Most of the staff were very good. Unfortunately I needed a fridge for medication but they didn't have them in the room, so had to get ice a couple of times a day
