Very nice hotel in the heart of the Quarter.

Posted May 20, 2017
This hotel would rate 4 stars in Paris. Very well kept property with a comfortable lobby, beautiful courtyard, swimming pool. We loved the convenience of the cafe, coffee shop and bar. All of the staff was cordial and well trained. The room had all the desired modern touches... hair dryer, iron & ironing board, safe & TV with cable. Looking deep for something that wasn't wonderful, all my wife and I could think of was no exhaust fan in the bathroom so the mirror fogged up and the shower head didn't put out as much water as we'd have liked. It felt like you needed to walk around the tub to get wet all over. We'll stay here again on our next trip. Overall, this hotel is a terrific value!

Not what was expected

Posted May 19, 2017
Pros: Location.
Cons: Needs some repairs
Location: French Quarter.
No hair drier. No shampoo or other amenities. A lot of the renovations (painting, plasterwork, bathroom, etc.) were very substandard.

Comfort and convenience in a great location

Posted May 19, 2017
Pros: Great location in French Quarter. Convenient to everything, yet quiet enough to sleep. Restaurant w/ courtyard and shop for quick coffee/sandwiches.
Cons: Rooms are looking a bit shabby. Upholstery and carpets appear worn. Many bathrooms in the rooms have louver/ wood slat doors, so very little privacy.
Location: French Quarter closer to Rampart Street side. 2 blocks from Bourbon. Many lovely streets to wander for shopping, yet a short walk to Canal or River.
Hotel St. Marie is a great home base for exploring the French Quarter. Just a few blocks from Bourbon St. or Royal St. -- you are close to shopping, bars, or a tour of St. Louis Cemetery just across the street from Rampart. The St. Marie has a restaurant for brunch with a lovely courtyard as well as a bar and a quick stop shop for coffee, sandwiches, and freshly squeezed juice. Rooms are a bit dated, but perfectly useable. Aaron at the front desk and Brandon the valet were both extremely helpful and friendly when accommodating our requests. They couldn't do enough to make our stay enjoyable!

Nice hotel, close to everything

Posted May 15, 2017
My husband and I had a great time at this hotel. The hotel staff was very friendly and attentive to all our needs. The hotel was close to Bourbon St., but was quiet at night for a good nights sleep. I loved the second floor balcony right off our room, to relax there, after a busy day of sightseeing. I'd go here again.

Wrong room

Posted May 15, 2017
Pros: Location
Cons: Customer Service
Purposely booked this hotel so I could have a balcony. Got there, no balcony and in the very top corner of the hotel with a small window and no view. They blamed it on Expedia so when I tried to resolve through Expedia, Expedia blamed it on them. They were all booked for the night so they only offered to refund the difference between the room, or give me a balcony room at one of their sister hotels 4 blocks away outside of the area I wanted to be in. $38 for parking too. Sad!

My first experience in NOLA was enhanced by this Hotel. The Staff was amazing from the moment we arrived! Very comfortable with old world charm. Tanya and Aaron were awesome!

Below expectations

Posted May 8, 2017
Booked with expedia expecting more. Expected a room with a balcony and got a closet with a window overlooking an alley. Spoke with staff who were great overall but we're unable to help me. Mattress felt old and we'll worn. Bathroom door belonged on a closet. No privacy

Nice hotel, great location, very nice courtyard, fair price, staff needs to be nicer. But I would stay here again and give them another chance.
