Wonderful place to stay!

We had a great experience at Hotel St Marie. We stay there the night before we went on a cruise leaving out of New Orleans. The restaurant in the hotel had very good breakfast.

Nice hotel great location

I read many reviews of Hotel St. Marie before actually arriving and they were kind of all over the place which made me a little nervous. I have to say I was VERY pleasantly surprised. Staff was extremely friendly and hospitable, hotel lobby was absolutely beautiful. The rooms were standard but very comfortable, and very clean. It's definitely true that the location couldn't be more perfect. Far away enough from Bourbon to avoid the noise but close enough to all the main streets/attractions. I would definitely recommend this hotel!!

The smell of mold was unbearable

Pros: The staff and location was perfect
Cons: Remediate the room from mold
Location: Perfect location, walking distance to everything.
The staff and location was perfect, the smell and presence of black mold just in the room was terrible. Would not recommend to anyone

very close to bourbon street

Had a great trip. The rooms are not good for anyone with allergies. The food at the hotel was great and the staff was also.

Good location, only one small window, bathroom door had no lock and had slats instead of a solid door.

Book after July 2017

Pros: Location, restaurant.
Cons: The GM knows!
Location: We took the city walking tour from the Preservation Society, which was very good. We also did the Hop on/Hop off which gave us a broader overview.
In spite of my review, I would say to book at this hotel after their July renovation. I had a face to face talk with the GM, Tim, who listened carefully, rectified what he could instantly, and credited our final night. The location is right off Bourbon Street, which is right in the action, but predictably noisy. We had two parades right under our balcony--what fun. The restaurant was a very pleasant surprise. Good food and service. The two bellman I met, Brandon and Lindy, couldn't have been nicer.

Need some improvement.

Pros: The staff was friendly.
It was OK, but unsatisfactory. Things can be improved. This is an older building, which I understand, but somethings can be improved, for example: 1. The WIFI can be more stable. It was off sometimes, and on other times. 2. The dust under the counter in the bathroom should be cleaned. 3. The air was stuffy. 4. I found a cockroach in the tub, which is unusual in the U.S.

This was our first time in New Orleans. We will be back and will stay at The St. Marie Hotel again. The location was excellent.
