Nice hotel w/great views

Posted Jan 18, 2016
Cons: Better pillows; they were ALL FIRM.
Location: Near Superdome
PROS: Beautiful multi-level hotel. One of the best work-out facilities w/incredible views. Trolley is located just outside the main entrance. Superdome is immediately adjacent. Convention Center is a 20 min. brisk walk. French Quarter is a 30 min. brisk walk. Well maintained & clean rooms. Very helpful, responsive & enthusiastic employees. CONS: Self parking is $25 for 12hrs-24hrs w/OUT in/out privileges. Valet is $40-$45 day w/in & out privileges. PIllows are very firm.

The security was wonderful. As a woman staying alone it was nice to feel safe. The conference facilities and food were the best. My room was clean and the bed was comfortable.

A recommended hotel!

Posted Jan 13, 2016
Pros: Pretty much everything!
Cons: Get rid of the soft water!!
Location: Superdome is right there, Loyola Streetcar stop is right there. Lots of great places to eat within walking distance (including "Mother's")!
We stayed in the North Tower for a conference and loved it. The staff is wonderful and can offer lots of suggestions on places to eat. If you request something special it is handled immediately. The room was comfortable (the beds were AWESOME!!) and quiet. Very conveniently located (right on the streetcar stop). I would absolutely recommend this hotel. The only negative comment was the softness of the water - it took forever to rinse off the soap!!

Sugar Bowl on New Year's Day

Posted Jan 5, 2016
Pros: The hotel has spacious lobby with lots of seats. It's a short walk to the Superdome where the ball game was played.
Cons: The hotel needs to have sufficient staff to ready the rooms for incoming guests. We waited over an hour and some people had been there 1 1/2 hours.
Location: The hotel is less than 1/2 mile from the Superdome where many sports and events are held. The French Quarter is nearby, but not in walking distance.
The Hyatt Regency New Orleans is a very nice spacious hotel. It appears to be fairly new. We had a corner room with lots of windows that had wonderful light-blocking draw drapes so that the street lights and early morning sun did not interrupt sleep. The beds were very comfortable. Reception would not let me check my husband and me in because I had made the reservation in his name. They required his picture ID and his credit card. After he parked the car he waited in line and was told they couldn't find a reservation for us. We had the printout from Expedia with the confirmation numbers. They told us they would call us when they could verify our confirmation. Half an hour later my husband got in another line. The lady at this desk called Expedia, where it was discovered Expedia booked the reservation under "Jr" the suffix instead of our last name. We got our room assignment in a little over an hour. The courteous and helpful bellman immediately ushered us to our room, showed us how to use the elevator system (children can't punch the buttons to all the floors on this system), and brought us some ice. A handy tip: The self-park garage conveniently connected to the hotel, but not run by the hotel requires reservations for big events. The hotel tells you about the garage, but doesn't tell you how to make reservations. We had to park elsewhere. The next time we are in New Orleans for a Superdome event we will likely choose this hotel.

All good except leaky roof

Posted Jan 5, 2016
Nice hotel, great location. Enjoyed the restaurants. The only bad experience was there was a leaky roof that was dripping for a few days. Otherwise, very pleased with this hotel and would use again.

Convenient to the Super Dome and restaurants.

Posted Jan 4, 2016
Pros: Location
Cons: Only suggestion would be a better layout of the guest room and it's doorways.... but that's coming from an interior designer.
Location: Super Dome and Smoothie King center for events. Restaurants to try.... Walk On's for Sports Bar, Johnny Sanchez for great food and atmosphere.
Nice Hotel with lots of amenities. Clean rooms. Friendly staff.
