We had a great experience at the intercontinental. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The room was quiet and comfortable. The bed was very comfortable. I wish the lights were a bit brighter in the room.

Clean, comfortable, convenient location

Posted Mar 28, 2017
Pros: Big comfy bed with fluffy pillows. Adjustable thermostat. Quiet room while city bustles outside. Plenty of outlets for charging phone.
Cons: Empty cabinet seems to be missing refrigerator. Not looking for a mini-bar, but would have liked refrigerator for leftovers/snacks, cream for coffee
Location: French Quarter, Lafayette Sq free jazz on Wednesdays, Ruby Slippers breakfast cafe, St. Charles streetcar. Local cafes as well as Starbucks on corner
Conveniently located on St. Charles opposite streetcar & walking distance from French Quarter. Staff always at door ready to help with bags or hail a cab. Fast & easy check-in. Lobby bright & nicely appointed, great bar & classy happy hour. Room made up every day with coffee & amenities plentiful. Would stay there again with pleasure.

Pleasant stay,good lobby

Posted Mar 24, 2017
Pros: Lobby
Cons: Restaurant's menu for healthy food.
Location: I found most of the location 15 mins walk, had to be careful, we hear the crime rate there is high. Plenty of restaurant is nearby within 10 mins walk
Hotel's comfort was good, friendly staff, I had to walk a lot to get to places or paid for taxi services. Hotel's menu is limited and too expensive.

Nice hotel close to French Quater

Posted Mar 24, 2017
Close to French Quater, yet far enough that you could have a quiet night without all the commotion. Only complaint is, 3rd day our room didn't get cleaned. Housekeeping showed up around 8.30 at night!!!! My child was already sleeping by then!

Nice Hotel and Close to Top Spots

Posted Mar 23, 2017
Pros: Nice Location
Cons: Floor Cleanliness
Location: Canal St which is the border of French Qtr is a 5 min walk. From there many restaurants, shops and activities.
Recently stayed 3 nights while on vacation with the family. Hotel is close to French Quarter, about a 5 min walk to Canal St and then possibilities to explore are endless. Hotel room was nice and comfortable; beds, TV, balcony and shower/vanity. We really and ked the separate area for shower and vanity. Staff was friendly and answered questions and Bell Hops held bags prior to check-in and check-out so that we could continue to explorer. Overall good stay and would revisit. The only downside was cleanliness of the floor. Do not think the floor had been vacuumed in awhile as I noticed while stretching and doing some floor exercises. Then, on the last day we found a half eaten candy bar on the floor beside the bed.

Close to the French Quarter

I worked for Shell 25 years ago and stayed at the Intercontinental weekly for 2 years. A lot has changed; mostly it serves now as a convention residence. The Grand Entrance, the Governor's Lounge are gone-- converted into rooms. To be fair, I was on an expense account as opposed to now, retired 20 years, so the world looks different. Still I would recommend to friends and we will return again one of these days. The restaurants were excellent, staff super. The only criticism is basic [free] internet was only 1 MB. No longer on an expense account.......

Tv in bedroom didn't work. I paid for a room with two queen beds and a balcony. I got upgraded to "suite" room only had a king bed. So as I slept on the king my bed had no choice to sleep on the uncomfortable sofa bed that pulled out. When I told the guy I wanted to upgrade in writing that it was no extra charge he quitely pfft and said okay. Other than that it was nice hotel
