Nice and close to all areas of interest

Posted Aug 30, 2015
Pros: Everything
Cons: We found very nice restaurants and a great coffee shop (P&G) and the hotel informed us more about what is in the tourist areas.
Location: Located within walking distance of Pubs, restaurants, shopping and the trolly.
The staff went above and beyond to help us feel welcome. Room was above our expectations. The service for parking our car was great. The car was secure and protected behind the locked area across the street. The in house restaurant is elegant and the food is very good.

Charming historic hotel

This is a beautiful hotel, set in a quiet neighborhood, but still close to French quarter, museums, river walk, the creole queen riverboat cruise and aquarium were all within walking distance. When you arrive, someone will be there to take your bags inside. Check-in was a breeze. If you get there before check-in, they will get you registered, so you can leave and begin your vacation. They will call you when your room is ready and you have the option to go get settled right then or when you get back from your day. They will store your suitcases/bags in a locked closet in the meantime. You will have to pay for parking somewhere, but the hotel offers it as well and you have in/out privileges. When you need your vehicle, you will not have a long wait (while we were there, it took only 5 minutes). We also liked this hotel because it was only five stories. The room was wonderful, with tall ceilings, marbled side tables and big windows. Room was very clean, the bed was comfortable, television had more satellite channels than any other hotel we have stayed in. Bathroom was roomy with a marbled counter and we never lacked in running out of hot water. I believe the hotel was built in the early 1900's and when they renovated, they kept its charm and it still made you think you were still back in time. All staff were accommodating and very friendly. If we ever come back to New Orleans, we would stay here again, I highly recommend this hotel.

Perfect walking distance to everything happening!

I just left New Orleans after attending Essence Festival and the Lafayette Hotel was the perfect location. We could walk to the French Quarter, Convention Center and the Superdome. The added bonus was the hotel was quiet in a great neighborhood. I would definitely stay again.

Beautiful, clean, and quiet hotel well located!

Posted Jul 2, 2015
Two of us stayed at this hotel for 5 nights at the end of June. Our stay here was fantastic! It is an older building but has been renovated beautifully, while maintaining it's original character. Check-in was quick and the staff were friendly. The end room we got was spacious and clean, with high ceilings and large windows. It was quiet in our room, except when the streetcar went by, which we could hear (not a big deal at all). The hotel is located in the central business district, which is a little away from the action of the French Quarter. This meant it was a lot quieter. The walk to Canal street and the French Quarter was about ten minutes. You can also walk to the WWII museum in about ten minutes. You can also catch the streetcar right outside the hotel (going towards the Garden District - although the street car line is under construction so you can only go about 4 stops in that direction). There were quite a few restaurants near by. Most of the breakfast places were not open on weekends, as this was the business district. Having said that, with Canal street not too far away, it wasn't hard to find food! Overall, I was very happy with this hotel and would recommend it!

Couldn't have asked for more!

We really enjoyed our stay at Lafayette. The room was beautiful, spacious and faced the back- it was quiet. The bathroom was spacious as well (especially the shower!). Staff were easy to reach via telephone, very friendly, and quick to respond to all requests. Would definitely stay there again.
