A lil mishap but a great recovery by hotel staff

Posted May 26, 2017
Location was excellent (walking distance to all the great happenings), room was nice, staff was great, only downside was we we entered the room the first thing we saw was a refrigerator door covered with multiple rust spots that looked like a splattered mess (a true eyesore). The hotel staff apologized and credited our parking fees for the mishap. All and all, the stay was quite pleasant.

Conveniently located

Posted May 23, 2017
Beds were quite comfortable and room was nicely decorated. Service was very good. Good lighting in bathroom but the room was a little dark in areas. Would have been nice when traveling to have a small refrigerator in room; neither could we find a drink machine for refreshment late at night. Many hotels have coffee available for guests but this one did not. The room coffee was "drinkable" but not good and of course had powdered creamer. Our tub did not drain well and toilet seat was loose. A little lacking in amenities and needed some care, but comfortable, clean and convenient.

Classy, beautiful, well-located

Posted May 22, 2017
Pros: architecture, maintenance, comfort
Cons: nothing
Location: close to the WW II museum, train station, not too far from the French Quarter. Restaurants within walking distance (plus a nice one in the hotel)
A nice looking building on Lafayette Square, walking distance from the train station and the French Quarter (which was about 7 blocks away). The St. Charles streetcar line goes in front of the hotel. The rooms were extremely nice, the bed comfortable, the location quiet. We'd go there again without hesitation.

Pleased with our stay

Posted May 21, 2017
Pros: The location was attractive We wanted to spend time in the French quarter but not stay there and the hotel was only a short walk away.
Cons: Put some seats in the entrance area.
Location: Cafe on the corner of Lafayette Square was excellent If you want to see real jazz go to Frenchman street, the Spotted Cat is a good venue.
Quaint hotel Check in was easy and Hotel was comfortable and clean Short walk to bourbon Street Bourbon Street is dirty and smelly Full of stag and hen parties. better places are to be found in the side streets where we saw some real jazz not the rubbish you can hear on the street. Try Preservation Hall for real jazz.

Nice Little Hotel

Very adequate accommodations. Centrally located between the French Quarter and Uptown. Easy access to the St Charles street car. The bed and shower were both fantastic. The room stayed cool. The staff was fantastic. Really great service.

Charming, clean, friendly staff. Very close to a nice park and a few restaurants worth checking out, and all the main tourist spots are walkable. Would definitely stay here again!

Nice boutique hotel

Posted May 9, 2017
About a 5 minute walk from Canal, the Lafayette is in a cool (art district) neighborhood. Numerous restaurants in the area. A Starbucks and even better Pulp and grind coffee shop r a block away as is a great Rouses Market. Rooms r traditional and very well maintained. Trolley on St. Charles may bother some but I kind of liked it. Otherwise the rooms r tomb quiet. Lobby could use a bit of TLC but staff and manager couldn't be nicer. Hallways to rooms r also lovely but freezing cold for some reason. 2 elevators r prompt, speedy and very nice. Overall the stay was very pleasant-Will definitely stay again.
