Historic hotel on esplanade

Posted Feb 9, 2018
Lovely hotel, staff were super friendly and it’s close enough to walk to everything but far enough away to stay quiet. Only complaint was the lack of water pressure.

One block to the best music in NOLA

Posted Jan 24, 2018
Charming historic hotel. Great staff. Close to Frenchman Street where the best music is but far enough away that even the evenings brass bands were playing on Frenchman Street we still got a good night's rest.

Beautiful Hotel with friendly, helpful staff

Posted Jan 20, 2018
Pros: The room didn't feel like a hotel room, it felt like we were staying in a beautiful house.
Cons: I was very pleased with the Keurig and toiletries, however if I was staying for more than one night I would've loved a mini fridge.
Location: Near Frenchman St. and the French Quarter. Plenty of restaurants, bars, and music within walking distance.
We had a great experience with the hotel staff who were very friendly both at check-in and check-out, and helped us get a cab to the airport quickly when Uber was experiencing price surging. The hotel itself was beautiful and picturesque and in an excellent location close to Frenchmen St. Would definitely stay here again.

First time in New orleans

Posted Jan 16, 2018
Thank you for the early check in. The hotel is gorgeous and historic. Only issue is that it was freezing this weekend and our room never warmed up as the heater was off when we arrived. My gf and I ended up getting sick.

Hi Geo, Thank you for staying with us for your maiden voyage to NOLA! I'm so sorry you caught a bug during your time in New Orleans. The freezing cold temperatures that hit us were unexpected and unusual for the deep South. I hope you and your girlfriend are feeling better!

Great time at the Lamothe!

Posted Jan 3, 2018
Loved the location for Frenchmen St, French Market and French Quarter! Staff are awesome. Loved the historic hotel and room in Marigny House was great with super high ceilings and chandelier! Much more spacious than I expected. Keurig machine in registration area was nice perk.

Nice haunted hotel

Posted Dec 27, 2017
The Lamothe House is a really nice hotel. We actually stayed in the guest house suite. It was very cute and cozy. We had some creepy experience while staying there. The first day, my husband and i were taking a nap and i got woken up by an "oohhhing" noise and i felt something in front of me. I woke up and nothing there but i could feel something there. The last night, i woke up to my husband talking in his sleep (which he never does) and i tried waking him up and it took a good 2 mins to wake him up and he finally woke up. He told me that shadows were trying to take him away and he was struggling with them. So if you want to stay in beautiful haunted house then Lamothe House is for you!

Worth the money!

Posted Dec 4, 2017
Location was perfect, within a safe walking distance to Bourbon St, Frenchman St, and the French Market. Staff was great with suggestions on where to go. Older facility so rooms were small with minor issues such as bathroom door not closing all the way and slow drain in bathtub but I would still be willing to stay there again.

Good budget-friendly hotel

Posted Nov 19, 2017 on Hotels
Room was small, but ok, and king bed was comfy. Good deal for the last minute price. Biggest issue for us was the overpowering smell of bleach/cleaner. It is quite offensive. The windows do not open so we left the door open, with shutters drawn. Bathroom was a bit worn, but overall fine, especially for the budget traveler. Guest service was great. Interesting history regarding the building!

Hi Justin, We're glad you found great value and great service in your stay. My apologies for the smell of cleaner in your room, perhaps you arrived immediately after it was finished being mopped out as that is not a typical comment we hear. Please come visit the French Quarter Guest Houses again on your next visit to New Orleans! Nikki Ritzenthaler GM
