Great location and great value

Posted May 16, 2017
Location: Live music and art market on Frenchman Street, Armstrong Park, French Quarters, and short distance to all other attractions.
Easy check-in and out, super friendly staff, knowledgeable about food and tours and was receptive to our needs. The room was spacious and comfortable, and they have their own pool with jacuzzi! Great location; it's close to all the sights and attractions and sits on a quiet, tree-lined neighborhood, best of both worlds!

Great location

Posted May 16, 2017
Pros: It's quaint traditional style and that it hadn't been made into a bland corporate hotel
Location: Just on the walkable edge of the French Quarter.........just walk into town and enjoy all the wonderful eclectic jazz town.
The Lamothe Hotel was beautifully quaint, clean and attractive. Located on the outer edge of the French Quarter, it was easy to walk into the centre without being overwhelmed by the vibrant party atmosphere of Bourbon Street. The rooms are clean but bijou, ensuite facilities and ours had an internal view over beautiful garden and welcome pool on a hot day. The decor is traditional and in keeping with the original age of the building, with wooden staircases and stone floors... no corporate detailing here! Breakfast not included but lots of great places to find meals within a 5 minute walk but coffee making facilities available in rooms and reception area. A very enjoyable and relaxing stay in a very vibrant city.

Well placed hotel in the French Quarter

Posted May 13, 2017
Pros: The people and the locality.
Cons: Can't think of anything.
Location: As above, great situation for walking anywhere in central New Orleans.
We loved this hotel. Very comfortable, small and perfectly situated to walk around New Orleans. Sufficiently far enough away from Bourbon Street not to be noisy and the locale will give you everything you want. NB. The hotel does not do breakfast or provide food or facilities. No big deal as there are plenty of places around to meet your needs.

In the French Quarter

Posted May 11, 2017
Pros: Historic charm, comfortable beds and pillows, good in room coffee, friendly staff.
Cons: Could have used a table/counter area in bathroom. Had to put things like hair brushes, makeup, etc, in a bag on the floor.
Location: We did the Segway tour...lots of fun, very easy to learn how to operate. Cathy was very knowledgeable and friendly. Not a vacation spot for children.
Walking distance to everything. Wonderful historic building. Aveda bath products in room, Kurig coffee maker in room and in lobby. Comfortable beds, lots of pillows. Even put foam earplugs in nightstand! (because it is a late night town) Nice pool and jacuzzi area. Met some wonderful people by the pool.

Nice hotel right on the edge of the French Quarter

Posted May 7, 2017
The Lamothe Hotel is right on the edge of the French Quarter and within walking distance of a lot of attractions and NO night life. The accommodations are great and the staff was very efficient and friendly. This is a great place for couples, private and romantic.

Old World Charm in a great location!

Posted Apr 28, 2017
Pros: Old World Charm, friendly staff, bottled water for purchase, pleasant courtyard, fabulous location close to French Quarter and Frenchman Street.
Cons: No need to take up space in the (tiny) hanging closet with ironing board & iron. Could put one elsewhere for communal use.
Location: Close to Frenchman Street, French Quarter. Eat breakfast at Horn's, about 2 blocks away. Easy location for Ubers to find.
Lamothe House was a fantastic find. The staff consistently helpful and gracious. The pool and hot tub area were pleasant to sit around - hot tub great at the end of a long day of walking and sightseeing. Don't miss the after-dark twinkly lights in the trees next door. Magical! We had one of the small rooms on the courtyard, and although the hotel was very full, other guests were respectful and quiet. Nevertheless, I used earplugs at night just in case there might be the occasional late arrival. No problems sleeping. It was convenient to Frenchman Street music and Adolfo's restaurant, over the Apple Barrel. The desk staff recommended breakfast at "Horn's" which was just a couple of blocks away and it was fabulous -- we went twice. Would definitely recommend Lamothe House and will be back.

We stayed for five days. We enjoyed the stay.

Posted Apr 24, 2017
Pros: Room was clean and the sit out place to enjoy the nice weather.
Cons: You could clean and refurbish the oval structure with the plants between the two buildings to make it more attractive place.
Location: Location of the hotel is super very close to French Quarters. Walking distance to French market, Jackson square and the river side.
We got a room with a sit out place. Location was very good for walking to French quarters. Room was very clean and service was good and very close to our parking. Front desk people were very helpful. We stayed for five days in April 2017. We enjoyed the stay and happy to recommend.

Charming old place with much to offer

Posted Apr 18, 2017
We stayed 4 nights in one of the rooms across the street from the main building. This worked out fine for us. We had plenty of space and the a/c worked fine. We enjoyed the charming little pool area. It is small so get there early if you're hoping to use one of the few lawn chairs. Wish we had a small fridge and a couple stands on which to place our luggage, but we made do. This is very close to Frenchman Street where there are lots of bars with great live music. There are also a number of good places to eat very nearby. We could occasionally hear it, but it never bothered us. The rest of the French Quarter is not far away ( a few minutes walking...a little longer if you're going to the far end where Canal St is.) Overall, this place met our needs nicely. We'd stay again and/or recommend to others. One downer was that the staff we encountered were less than personable, but all-in-all we were pleased with our stay.
