Pros: I liked the hotel's ambiance and our staff enjoyed the PBJ sandwiches.
Cons: The people at the desk could be friendlier. Wasn't impressed by them. The other staff was very helpful - but just not at the front desk.
Location: It's close to a lot of things making it attractive.
Two of us didn't get wake up calls. But at least we woke up on our own.

Under construction

Posted Aug 27, 2016
Pros: I love the design of the hotel.
Cons: Customer service
Location: The French Quarters is walking distance. Bourbon street is also walking distance. Plenty of things to do walking distance and many of places to eat.
I wish they would have told me that the hotel was going through renovation. In the morning was a constant drilling noise. I stayed 6 nights seven days and my room was only cleaned two of those days. This experience was so different from my first visit to this hotel where the staff was very helpful and pleasant. The concierge was of no help. I felt like I was at a resort and they only had information on things that they would get paid from.

Nice hotel, but level of service needs work.

Posted Aug 23, 2016
Overall, this is a good hotel. However, we had an unpleasant experience. About 20 minutes after we checked in and entered our room, a member of the hotel staff unlocked and opened the door to our room. This action was completely unannounced, no knock, etc. Upon seeing the room occupied the staff member immediately apologized and exited the room. There apparently was a mix up in room assignments and he was helping some hotel guests who thought they were assigned to our room. Regardless of the reasons, we were not happy that someone would invade our privacy in such a way. Then, after this incident, our room keys (electronic key cards) no longer worked. It seems the use of the staff member's key somehow deactivated our keys. After a few attempts to call the front desk I finally got through and new keys were brought to us. Given the stature of this hotel, I expected a higher level of service.

Pros: History and decor.
Cons: Housekeeping service.
Location: Good location.
Hotel was nice, front desk staff were nice. Housekeeping service was very poor! First night there, no bag for ice bucket and no washcloths in room. Room was not cleaned at all first day. Requested fresh/dry towels when leaving for the day. Returned that night to find no clean towels were delivered. Called again for fresh towels, person on phone was rude, took two hours for them to be delivered. Second day bed was made but no fresh towels or clean drinking cups, still no bag for ice bucket. Ice machine on our floor did not work either.

This hotel is absolutely lovely.

Posted Aug 22, 2016
Pros: Lovely setting, large rooms, great pool, and good location.
Cons: Support staff
Location: 1/2 mile from canal shops, aquarium, and French quarter. 10 minute drive from Tulane university. 30 minutes to the airport.
I loved this hotel, the PB&J happy hour is so great, the hotel gym and pool are lovely, the food is good and the rooms are spacious. My only complaint came from hotel service. I lost my earring down the sink and called for an engineer. No show and no earring. I called for a wake up call to get to the airport and booked the time. No call the next morning. I called several times to get the engineer and either couldn't get an answer from the desk or despite assurances that engineer was coming...No Show. Very sad for such a great overall experience to be marred by poor support staff.

Great hotel, very friendly helpful staff. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Valet parking was right across the street, so there was no waiting on your vehicle.

Bad House Keeping

Posted Aug 16, 2016
Pros: Building itself was gorgeous, and reception staff were doing good.
Cons: House-keeping Department.
I stayed in this hotel for 3 nights and overall stay was good, but housekeeping was bad. During my stay, they didn't do room-keeping on my second day at all. The other days, their house-keepings always lack something (ex. body shampoo, plastic cups, opening curtains, etc.). The worst thing about House-keeping Department was the service after checking-out. I left my belonging there (this is obviously my fault, but their reaction constitutes a part of their service, doesn't it?) and I made calls four times to the hotel. When I told them I needed to discuss about lost & found matter, they transferred me to House-keeping Department, and nobody in that department answered my call three times. The automated system said "please leave your message and phone number, somebody will call you back..." and I left messages all three times, but nobody called me back. One of four calls, I demanded a manager after business hour, but he only said "call this number again tomorrow". In this regard, I cannot but help saying their service level was pretty low.

Beautiful hotel close to the French Quarter

Posted Aug 15, 2016
Everything was beautifully decorated, the staff are extremely polite and helpful. The Roof-top pool has amazing views of the city. Two things that went wrong: first, when it rained we had a leak in our window, (not too terrible), second, we had dinner in the lounge one night of our stay, I told the waitress I required a gluten free meal. The menu states they can accommodate this diet, however, the lovely dish prepared for me had me extremely ill. I had a terrible gluten reaction and spent the entire night vomiting. I would definitely stay here again and I do recommend Le Pavillon but I would be afraid to trust the "gluten free" options.
