Very Nice Hotel, Old but very nice.

Posted Sep 23, 2016
Pros: The hotel is around 100 years old, but it has all the modern amenities, the pool was very clean, the staff was extremely polite and very helpful.
We enjoyed our stay and was very pleased. The one thing we like was that this hotel was over 100 years old and had the charm of an historic building.

Nice But Very Hotel Outdated

Posted Sep 23, 2016
Pros: The location was excellent.
Cons: Renovations, a secure Wi-Fi---my laptop got a virus while we were using it on there server, hotel amenities, newer room furniture, like a dresser.
Location: Things to do nearby: French Quarter WWII Museum Insectarium Aquarium Loads of restaurants Tastebud Tours
We spent five days at the Pavillon Hotel and were amazed at the amenities it lacked. The elevators (2) took forever to get to your floor---they were the old non-hydraulic ones and when one of them was down, it was even worse. There was no refrigerator in the room unless you wanted to rent one for $10 a day extra, if one was available. Room service was every day, so that was a nice feature. The restaurant was good but on the Saturday when we had our reservation, there were only two couples in the entire place. We found that very strange for an "upscale" hotel. It is centrally located and we could walk to everything which was a great plus. One of the greatest things that not too many hotels can boast of was their ice cold, fruit infused water in the front lobby and the free pbj's and cocoa at midnight. We never tried the latter but wish we had. I would recommend this hotel but with reservations due to the upgrades we felt were needed.

Old hotel overlly priced

Posted Sep 20, 2016
Pros: Lobby
Cons: Showers, beds, flooring, Cable system, parking fee
This hotel was definately overpriced. Parking is US $45 + TAX and it´s not even a block away. Worse part is the parking lot only charges US$16 for overnight cars. My room was extremely noisy, from everytime the room next door opened the faucet to the AC. The carpet in the room smelled and the shower was a portable, small tele-shower. This hotel definately needs to be renovated overall.

Thank you for your honest feedback back and sorry for any confusion regarding parking fees. Our parking rates are in line with the City of New Orleans and the $16 rate is for daily parking. We are refreshing the hotel and addressing the items that you mentioned. Thank you for staying with us. Regards, FC

Wonderful staff, not so wonderful room

Posted Sep 20, 2016
The hotel had an old world charm and the lobby was impressive. Unfortunately, the room was dusty (overhead fan, pictures, lamps, etc), the toilet water was shut off and the hotel plumber had to come and turn it on. Then, a few hours later, we realized it was leaking water. The shower was one of those sliding doors but there was only 1 so water splattered out. The room phone didn't work so we had to use our cellphones to call the front desk a few times. The only shining star was the staff. They were hospitable, friendly and accommodating. The in-hotel restaurant served amazing food and Miguel, our server, treated us like we were family. The roof top pool was also beautiful and offered an amazing view of the city.

Elegant hotel, minutes from the action

Posted Sep 19, 2016
Pros: Rooms were clean, spacious and quiet and the beds were really comfortable. Staff were friendly and went out of their way to help.
Cons: Only down side is that the bathrooms in our rooms while beautiful, had limited counter space.
Location: Just blocks from all the action, we walked almost everywhere. The street car can also be accessed just a few blocks away.
We spent 4 days here as we toured NOLA. Loved the hotel and the staff. They were all very friendly and went out of their way to help. Reasonably priced rates through Expedia. Concierge was very helpful with options for dining and night life. Hotel bar was reasonably priced and staff were fun and accommodating.

Old beautiful traditional hotel

Posted Sep 12, 2016
Pros: It's beauty & location.
Cons: Another elevator, but you can't add that to 100+ year old building.
Location: Business district, the Quarter & the Super Dome
What a beautiful hotel. It is in the heart of the Business district, very close to the quarter. They are currently renovating one of the floors, and didn't really even notice the construction activity. It is suppose to be haunted, but we didn't experience any ghostly appearances.

The hotel is simply stunning. The history of the hotel is a must read. So many interesting stories. The art work is beautiful. The hotel staff was so pleasant and helpful. The rooms are a little small, but very comfortable. The hotel was close to every thing that we wanted to see and do. We parked our vehicle and never moved it. We walked all the way to the French Market and then to the Smoothie King center. It was a lot of walking, but reasonable. The parking at the hotel was pricey, but there were other options close by. Take advantage of the PB&J sandwiches at 10 pm. and read the history of it. Nice stay. Would stay here again and would definitely recommend to friends and family. Thank you, La Pavilion, for an excellent stay.

Charming historic hotel close to the French quarte

Posted Sep 11, 2016
Pros: Decoration, atmosphere
Cons: Some details (TV remote control did not work, one of thelamps did not work...)
Location: Could not be better located!
We spent 3 days there to visit the city. It was the pefect base camp: right in the middle of New Orleans downtown with everything around. No need to use the car during three days. You can really feel the history of the hotel (more than 100 years), which is not common for an hotel in te US.
