Truly disappointed in Front Desk assistance!

Posted Aug 24, 2015
Pros: Nice location; good restaurants near by.
Cons: Nicholas (Front Desk) needs to either go back to training on how to speak to customers or think about changing jobs! Clean the pool! (green)
Location: close to street car but, unfortunately a lot of the tracks were being repaired and therefore, not as convenient to get around...
From the moment we tried to get into our room we had a difficult time. I went to New Orleans for my class reunion in which I no longer live in New Orleans. I had brought my daughter so we could sight see and enjoy the food. I arrived on Friday evening and the reunion was at 8:00 p.m. Thank God my daughter stayed behind because when I returned to the hotel, I (once again) could not get into the room. On Saturday morning my daughter and I left to go get a bite to eat before a Mass that was being had for our class at 4:00 pm. We returned to our room about 2:30 p.m., once again could not get into the room, 3 other staff members tried using their key, to no-avail. Maintenance man, to no-avail after 40 minutes I went to the front desk to speak to a manager. I had the unfortunately experience with Nicholas at the front desk in which he was rude, disrespectful and said to go wait back at my room and he would send someone (in which someone was there). At about 3:40 maintenance took the lock off the door and got it open, we had 25 minutes to get ready and get to the church by 4:00. You guessed it we were late. I returned later in which 2 keys were to be at the front desk, Nicholas runs 2 keys & gives them to me. You guessed it again, didn't work. By this time a manager was on duty, butter could melt in the way Nicholas talked to me. Didn't help.

Nice hotel close to the French Quarter

Posted Aug 24, 2015
Pros: It had a French atmosphere to it
Cons: Maybe a sitting chair with a small desk.
Location: I mentioned those previously.
I enjoyed the good food at Landrys.I was able to browse the record shops in the area....I jogged on St. Charles Avenue to my heart's content

Everything Great About This Hotel but Room

Posted Aug 24, 2015
Pros: The Breakfast and the location.
Cons: See above.
Location: Very close to many restaurants in walking distance. The area itself is a little sketchy, but there is PLENTY of security in the evenings.
The Breakfast was great, the location was great, everything overall was great, EXCEPT the room itself. This was our second stay at this hotel, and BOTH times we have had to move rooms because of condensation on the floor by the A/C unit. They need to fix the problem, instead of just airing the carpet and going again. The A/C drains are clogged because it is, after all, August in New Orleans so they are working overtime. Three out of the four rooms we stayed in during this two period stay had this problem. 25% success rate is not enough. It is a very easy fix, however it is laziness on the hotel's part to not remedy the situation at hand. The carpet being wet creates mildew and mold, and the rooms smell as such. We WOULD stay here again, if they would remedy that situation, however, because it still isn't fixed in three different rooms, that seems unlikely.

Great location, good price. Not clean enough.

Posted Aug 21, 2015
Pros: The location is very good. Secure parking lot.
Cons: Easy: Please take a brush and clorox to the corners of the bathrooms. Lighten up the purple and black decor.
Location: On a trolley line. Great walking area.
The entrance and lobby are lovely. Our two queen room was surprisingly not as nice. It was very dark. The bathroom was updated with a glass shower and subway tiles somewhere in the last few years, but the corners of the bathroom were very dirty. That's a litmus test for me. It showed years of cursory mop jobs. Ick.

Not worth the price

Posted Aug 9, 2015
Horrible beds, we were sinking in in the middle of the bed...no "Do not disturb" signs available in the rooms so housekeeping kept walking in in the AM...Not worth staying here.

Nice courtyard but that's it.

Posted Jul 24, 2015
First room smelled like urine in bathroom and had been used recently. Carpet was wet from AC in second room. Found a bus ticket in the sheets from last tenant. Overall just not a clean place to stay. Courtyard was nice though but can't sleep there

Ok hotel - not a good neighborhood

Posted Jul 24, 2015
Pros: Close to museum and trolley (not working)
Cons: Get the trolley working? Not your wheel house but that was very disappointing.
Location: Area seemed a little run down. Dangerous at night. National WWII Museum. Confederate Museum. Trolley to downtown when running.
We booked the hotel in Jan 2016 because it was next to the Trolley. Unfortunately, the Trolley was down for repairs starting in May. The neighborhood seemed a little rundown. I did not want my daughters to walk there alone. Staff was great, especially the breakfast room staff. Very helpful. Surprised that the jacuzzi was cooler than the pool. It is in walking distance to the National World War II Museum which is a plus.
