Bourbon Street, relative calm in the chaos

Lovely hotel with a fabulous staff although there were a few small issues. I requested a balcony room on the side not overlooking Bourbon St after reading reviews on the nightly noise level. Sadly, the room faced Conti Street, where the delivery trucks were louder than any revelers. On a side note, I was surprised to see no bathrobes. I requested a room change and staff were happy to oblige, even helping to move our belongings. In the room overlooking the courtyard, I discovered one bathrobe and set of slippers (two guests). That was a nice surprise, yet after a room cleaning, it disappeared again. Lol. Minor issues, yet for my next visit, think I'll stay a few blocks away from Bourbon St. Just for a quiet night's sleep.

Pros: Every staff member was extremely professional, friendly and helpful. The Bourbon Street location was safe and very convenient to the French Quarter.
Cons: Nothing. It was exceptional.
Location: See above narrative.
The Royal Sonesta is ideal if you want outstanding accommodations immersed in all the varied entertainment, exuberant crowds, and culture of historic Bourbon Street. An oasis of class and respite with its own restaurants, bars, jazz club, and coffee shop, the Sonesta provides a central location to everything in the French Quarter including world class restaurants, bars, music, tours, museums, shopping and the "Mighty Mississippi River waterfront. A professional, knowledgeable and friendly staff attends to your every need. Polite and personal, they make everyone feel like family and take pride in sharing their great city with you. The Jazz Playhouse has some of the best nightly entertainment spots anywhere in New Orleans in an intimate setting. Try the Desire Oyster Bar which opens right onto the excitement of Bourbon with many tasty light dining options. Overall, the Royal Sonesta enhanced the pleasure of our first time New Orleans experience, and we look forward to returning for many years to come!

Great hotel, great location, great staff

Stayed there for Valentine's. Had dinner at nearby Redfish Grill and capped off the night with live music at "The Jazz Playhouse" located on the first floor of the hotel. Nayo Jones performed with her band and blew us away with her vocals. If you have the opportunity to come to New Orleans, find out where she is playing and make it your business to catch her show. Our room was comfortable and we'll appointed. The only thing that was a bit unsettling was that the only window in our room have us a view of a wall that seemed to be about three feet away from our room. We were offered a free upgrade from a queen room to a king. Had we known about the view of the wall, we would have stayed in the queen. We also visited the PJ's coffee outlet on the first floor. The staff was personable and attentive. Great experience overall.

Great location

The location is perfect if you want to be in the heart of it all. However if you don't want the full experience of bourbon street than don't stay here. It's 24/7 outside. The rooms are big enough. But the beds could be more comfortable. Also when they got busy they forgot to clean our room. But other than that the staff was excellent

Cons: The restaurant needs big improvement.
Hotel is very nice, clean and comfortable The staff very helpful and polite. The only thing is the restaurant was very disappointing. The food is hardly eatable. The service is not bad but the food is disgusting.

Arrived early and our room was waiting. Nice treat after a long flight. The hotel is one square block in the middle of the French Quarter. Located in Bourbon Street the action gets a little racuous in the evening. Luckily there are side entrances to get you through the crowd. We had a balcony room that was facing the interior courtyard. This room was nice and quiet. The bathroom was large and well lit. Onsite restaurants are great and worth checking out. Staff at this property are friendly and truly professional. I will be back.

Ideal location in French Quarters, easy access to everything. Hotel is very elegant, rooms are clean and staff is very friendly. The jazz club in the hotel it is a great addition, if you don't feel like going out. We enjoyed the breakfasts in Desire Oyster Bar. We also loved the pool (a chlorine chemical-free, salt-based). The only thing, if you want really quiet room, take one over looking the courtyard, but we did not mind to have a room from the side street (Conti) to get a full experience of New Orleans.

Pros: The restaurants - Revolution and Desire - were outstanding. The pool was nice.
Cons: Check-in process, fitness center and maid service.
Location: Located in the heart of the French Quarter, everything is easily accessible within walking distance.
The hotel is well-located in the heart of Bourbon Street, which is a plus and a minus. The check-in experience was too long (almost an hour on a Thursday morning before Mardi Gras festivities even began). The hotel staff were very cordial. Unfortunately, we did not receive maid service on our last full day (Super Bowl Sunday) and when we found the maid staff at 5:15pm, they told us that they did not clean our room because we had "do not disturb" sign on our door, which was inaccurate. In addition, the fitness center was a below average facility (TV's at the treadmills, elipticals and bikes did not work, no separate water other than a water fountain, limited exercise space, etc.).

Dear Guest, New Orleans is a city rich in amazing restaurants and we are thrilled to read that you had an opportunity to savor two of the very best, our own Desire Oyster Bar and R’evolution. We thank you for taking the time to share your feedback and while we are delighted to learn that you enjoyed your experience as a whole, we regret to learn of the missed details you have shared. We appreciate you bringing these to our attention so that we can address internally and ensure others do not share your experience.
