excellent hotel - center of french quarter

Posted Jan 16, 2017
Pros: location
Cons: mattress are not that comfortable - wifi is okay (signal strength)
Location: french quarter - everything you want to do in NO is within walking distance.
Excellent stay. staff was very nice and helpful. Concierge is of original Cajun decent and gave us great tips on things to see and restaurants to eat. It can get a little loud at night and in the morning with wedding parades or other revelry going on, but that is why you want to stay in this hotel!! Don't stay here if you are looking for a very quiet place, the hotel is very lively.

Hotel was well situated

Posted Jan 16, 2017
Nice hotel but feel that it needs to be better maintained. For example bathroom vanity, door, trim. Trim through out hotel. Food service dished left for over 24 hours.

Nice hotel, great location

Posted Jan 15, 2017
No condiments for coffee in Am. Carpet not vacuumed well. Candy wrappers on floor, were not ours. Maid took our down comforter off the bed during room cleaning, never returned it. All the little things make a stay good or great! Everything else about the hotel is 5+

2 Night pleasure stay

Posted Jan 9, 2017
Refer leaked, making carpet wet. Toilet handle leaked. You have to close the lid to flush it. Not Pet friendly. Closest green space was 3/4 mile away. Internet totally sucked. So much so, I gave up. They warned me that it was noisy, but it was like we had 24/7 Jazz sounds in our room.

Great locatio

Posted Jan 9, 2017
This is a great hotel with wonderful staff in a great location. The rooms are big and comfortable and if you don't have a balcony room surprisingly quiet in fact you wouldn't think you were on Bourbon Street.

Great place near Bourbon Street

Posted Jan 6, 2017
Pros: We really enjoyed the fact that this place is so centrally located. You can walk to Jackson Square, Cafe Du Monde, etc.
Cons: They really should ask folks if they mind being on the Bourbon Street part of the hotel. It's a lot noisier and not everyone is a hard sleeper. I
Location: Plenty of restaurants & bars to visit nearby. We really enjoyed NOLA by Emeril, Jackson Square, Cafe Du Monde and Cafe Amelie. Lots to see, eat & do!
This place is in the middle of all the action. We're happy we stayed here during NYE week. The first part of our stay we had an interior facing balcony and that was wonderful. The noise was limited and we were also on the 4th floor. The latter part of our stay we were moved to the front of the hotel, facing Bourbon Street. It was louder and harder to tune out the street noise. We made due due to the fact that it was NYE, so it was par for the course. The lobby of the hotel is very nice, and so are all the front desk people. We ended up staying in the Garden District for part of our trip, and that ended up being a much more relaxing stay. But, if we were to stay in the French Quarter, this place would be at the top of the list.

Wonderful Hotel

Posted Dec 29, 2016
Location: Everything in the French quarter is within walking distance. Even Canal street is within walking distance.
The Royal Sonesta is in the heart of the French Quarter on Bourbon street. It is a beautiful retreat from the crazy happenings and energy of Bourbon Street. We were staying there at Christmas time and the decorations in the hotel were breathtakingly beautiful. The decor of the rooms has a mid-century modern flair; bed was very comfortable; two very comfortable chairs. All the staff we encountered were very pleasant and helpful. Overall, a very good and highly recommended hotel.
