Gorgeous Property in the Middle of everythinh.

I have stayed multiple times and absolutely love this hotel. The property is always immaculate and every single member of the staff is the right amount of friendly and helpful that it rings true as being genuine every time. Room service is great. I recommend the Gumbo and fruit platter. Fruit was fresh and they even omitted fruit I didn't care for. Little touches on everything make my trips here worth it. Balcony rooms are wonderful for working remotely since you can step out and listen/watch the city during breaks during the day without having to leave your room. Bathtubs are great too for relaxing. They are longer than the average tub and usually have a small ledge that is perfect for resting your head on over a folded towel (in the absence of a bath pillow).

customer service is horrible

Cons: customer service, fix the wallpaper that's falling down in the hallways
Location: right on Bourbon st, was lots of history, sound like there taking it all down.
We stayed April 17 for one night. we reserved our stay for two nights but had to leave early, we asked the front desk if they were going to charge us for the second night and they said no, so we checked out on the 18th about 10am, 2 hours before checkout, got our car out of there expensive parking garage and left, thought that was the end of it. 2 weeks later i get my credit card bill. not only did they charge me both nights the also tagged an extra $120 to the bill. so i called there billing dept. three times left messages all three times and also sent an email. i wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone i know.

Nice upscale hotel right on Bourbon Street

Pros: Location and service. Tony the bellman was an absolute pleasure!
Cons: Shampoo drips running down the side of the tub on arrival. Toilet paper holder not well attached to the wall. Air conditioner intermittently noisy.
Location: Great central location - walking distance to all we wanted to do.
Glad our room faced the courtyard rather than loud obnoxious Bourbon St. Check in was slow.

Cons: Temp control of hallways and rooms Way to cool
Location: Easy walk to great food,shopping,transportation

They didn't make it easy...

We arrived early, as most people do with different flight times. We gave the porter our luggage and our phone number and we're told that the room might be ready early (before the 3pm check-in). When we didn't hear from them we went back to the hotel and the lobby was a zoo. They not only didn't call us when the room was ready, but by the time we got into the room it was 4pm. I also left my iPhone charger there and called from the airport assuming that they could just mail it to me but the options given to me were to provide a credit card that they would use with FedEx and they couldn't tell me how much it would cost to ship. I would think that when you spend $1000 on a four night stay, they should be able to put something in the mail for you as a courtesy.

Pros: Located right on Bourbon St. with an amazingly helpful staff.
Cons: Food was horrible and overpriced. Gift shop would be nice.
Location: Bourbon St festivities were right below. Great location for live music for 1st thing in the morning until about 3 a.m.
We had a balcony room over Bourbon St. for 2 nights. Over $800 wasn't worth it. Rained hard and water came into the carpet about 3 feet in past the entry. Food was the worst ever. Closest thing to craziness was one of the street entertainers throwing up below our window and waiting to see how long it would take for someone to step in it. If you're after Mardi Gras type stuff, you will be disappointed.

Love this hotel. Close to everything.

Location: Musical Legends Park, Bourbon Street, Bourbon House Restaurant, Erin Rose Irish pub, The Famous Door
We loved our stay at the Royal Sonesta. The staff was wonderful. The hotel was beautiful inside. While Bourbon Street can feel kind of sketchy at late at night, we felt such ease when we would walk through the safety of our doors into the Sonesta. The lobby was beautiful and bright. There were security guards at the doors checking room cards to make sure only guests entered the hotel (which on a crazy Saturday night on Bourbon Street? This can be kind of necessary). The rooms were clean and lovely. We paid extra for a balcony room which allowed us to open the double doors and walk out to the pool and pool bar anytime we wanted. Great perk! We walked everywhere we needed to go. The Sonesta is in the center of everything so if we went shopping, we could easily swing by the hotel and drop off our bags. There's jazz playing in the lobby at night and coffee and muffins in the lobby in the morning. When we go back we will definitely stay there again. We absolutely loved it. Couldn't ask for anything more.

Balcony on Boubon

Great location and atmosphere, pool bar was a great place to recharge the batteries. Staff were polite and very attentive. Fridge is small, good for drinks not so much for leftovers. Great hotel, only complaint was road construction on Bourbon that started first thing every morning
