Character and Courtesy at the Inn

Posted Apr 4, 2017
Pros: location, convenience, friendly staff
Cons: There were quite a few cobwebs/dustwebs hanging over the bed that could be removed and some dusting of the bed area.
Location: French truck coffee shop (right next door), micobrewery on the corner, WWII museum 2 blocks away, most things are within 5 blocks in either direction
My experience started before I arrived; Frank, the innkeeper, emailed to give me directions, suggest how to get to the hotel from the airport and help with my check-in. He was so great about being flexible with my arrival and making arrangements for me in case he wouldn't be able to physically check me in. I arrived to the quaintest, romantic inn on Magazine St., situated next to my favorite things - a coffee shop and a brewery! Frank gave me a historic run-down of the inn, carried my bags up to my room, and pointed me to some snacks in the fridge. I could not have asked for a more courteous welcome! The inn is over 100 years old and very picturesque. The room was a little dusty and had some cobwebs but overall it was clean, the bed was extremely comfortable, and I appreciated my refrigerator with courtesy drinks. Frank said a wedding party was staying at the inn at the same time and I honestly never heard a peep from anyone in the other rooms. The only noise was the neighborhood bird who squawked in the mornings to let you know it was time to get up. The inn was on Magazine St. and I could easily walk down towards the courthouse and local restaurants. I didn't get much time to venture around the rest of the Garden district but it's a great location to hike down the block for grub and sites.

Overall a very nice place.

Pros: Great location and very nice room.
Cons: Tankless hot water system.
Very comfortable room and bed. The only issue was no hot water in morning for showers which is common with bed and breakfasts when they are fully occupied.

A gem you can feel at home with.

Really good stay. However, each day at 2:30 in the morning I was woken up by someone on the phone. It sounded like he was in my room. Other than that, great little gem.

Oozing character in the Garden District

Posted Dec 7, 2016
Pros: It is the most character-ful place we have stayed. The house itself is absolutely gorgeous - if only the walls could speak!
Location: The location was fantastic. We especially loved the architecture and could happily have wandered the streets ogling the beautiful homes.
We just loved our stay at the Green House Inn. From the get go we were warmly welcomed by the staff and made to feel right at home. The location was perfect for us.

Quiet oasis in the Lower Garden District

The Green House Inn is a fabulous oasis retreat -- relax in the pool /hot tub area amongst the hundreds of greenery plantings/trees.

Nice ambience

Atmospheric. Location good. Furnishings not great. Breakfasts terrible--no fresh juice or breads; industrial stuff in plastic wrappings.. Nothing cooked.

Gem in the Garden District

The Inn has character. It feels very homely. The innkeepers are very nice and helpful and the inside is like a tropical oasis.
