Not cookie cutter but also maybe not for everyone

Stayed 5 nights. Speedy check-in. Martha at the front desk was great. Had a 2nd floor room in the "Lafayette" section. Navigated several twists and turns from the lobby to get to the elevator, and there were still several steps to descend on the 2nd floor to get to the room at the end of the hall. Loved the modern yet industrial feel decor. The dresser had only one drawer and 2 shelves for clothes, as the majority of it housed the mini bar and a safe. Bed was comfy. Liked the twin reading lamps attached to the upholstered king headboard. Additional lighting came from the dimmable ceiling fan or mini lamps on the dresser and the desk. . The bathroom shower stall had great subway-style tile on the walls and scalloped-shaped black slate tile on the floor, which all looked very cool, but the lack of a shower door meant water splashed all over the floor. One could hear the movement of guests in the room above as they walked on the uncarpeted, creaky old wooden floors, but I didn't really mind that --- maybe my ceiling mate was relatively quiet. Never heard toilets flushing or showers running in the other rooms, as I have heard in most other places I have stayed, Overall I thought the room was quiet. The 2nd floor ice machine was not functioning but when I asked whether there was ice available elsewhere, the front desk just had someone bring ice to the room. All hotel staff were respectful, helpful and friendly.

HI there, I agree 100% definitely not a cookie cutter, we break the mold, we are like those really funky cookies that you wanted to turn out circle but didn't. You pretty much said it all in your review of us. I am so glad you had a great time and thank you for the feedback on the drawer space. We are in the process of updating our showers and adding doors to the showers. Hopefully will be completed by Mardi Gras. Again thank you and I will be sure to let Martha know you thought she was great. Happy Holidays!
