Nice hotel but....

Pros: Prime location - it's walking distance to all good restaurants and tourist attractions. Courteous staff; very friendly, professional, and charming.
Cons: Make sure the outlets/plugs all work. The light fixtures all work. Your kitchen should be able to provide what's on their menu (no excuses).
Location: Location is in the heart of French Quarter district. Cafe Beignet is around the corner. Kingfish is across the street. Location is prime!
The W was located in the heart of the French Quarter and all the good restaurants and touristy stuff was very close by. I walked to everything (except the Garden District). The rooms, however, were disappointing: Below were my following gripes in room #305: 1) Closet light didn't work half the of the time. It might be the wiring but it should work when you open the closet door. 2) Facing the closet is the wall mirror that was in high demand. Because the bathroom was so tiny, you would use the wall mirror to put on makeup. Well, can't do that if you only have 1 light inside a closet that didn't work in a hallway section painted in black. Lighting was an issue. 3) They had USB and plug-in outlet near the desk which is very convenient - but it also didn't work. I couldn't charge my phone. 4) The bathroom floor is black - behind the door was dusty/dirty. That's what happens when you use black as an interior color - you see everything! 5) They have a late night menu from 10pm to 6:30am. They said that the kitchen was closed. I ordered a late night snack close to midnight- a caeser chicken wrap (with chips). They said I was in luck and that was the only thing they had left. It wasn't caeser; it wasn't good; and they didn't provide me with chips. I want to emphasize that the staff was extremely friendly and courteous. Location again is awesome. Maybe it was just room #305 that needed some TLC. But if you're going to spend $$$, I'd probably stay at the Omni.

The W is located on a quiet side street footsteps away from the action and miles away from home. Perfect for a vacation to NOLA. The hotel is very nice. The courtyard is a delightful peaceful surprise in a city that never sleeps. Heated pool and groovy lounge chairs make taking a break easy. Joseph, Nicole, Debbie and the entire staff go out of their way to accommodate. Very friendly. Very professional. We stayed a week and enjoyed the reprieve this mordern hotel offered. The Sobo restaurant and lounge is an added plus.

The check in was LOUSY.

Cons: Need to hire more Check in/out Staff.
Location: Great Location.
They had only 1 staff member to service a long line upon check in. Secondly, While waiting to depart, I had one final question? "What time is check-out? Again, I did not feel like waiting or jumping the line. This is NOT a 4 Star Hotel in my opinion. Other than that, l would rate this Hotel as OK. Regards

Excellent location for French Qtr Experience

Pros: Location and Staff
Cons: Not full W is boutique so some less amenities
Location: right in the french qtr so within walking distance for all local attractions
hotel staff was great and provided upgrade due to expedia booking issue
