Time to renovate!

With the oil boom in the Ohio area, it seems we are having to look further and further out for hotel accommodations. This location (from the website) looked OK. My door card key didn't work. Outside entrances to rooms and it was below freezing. I brought the card back, explaining that it didn't work and rather than believe me, she took the card & tried it herself - only to find out that it didn't work. THEN she re-keyed it. You could tell this hotel has been around awhile. No padding under the carpet & several places it was frayed, old TV, heater in the bathroom sounded like it was going to explode (couldn't use it), water spigot was a trickle, towels old and hard, pillows - it took 3 to get comfortable, blanket was thin, lamp shades ripped and filled with holes, eletric outlet plates hanging off the wall, no place to plug in any electronics near the bed, unless you unplugged the lamp or old-school clock radio, even hotel information "flyers" looked like they'd been there for years. I realize I didn't book a room at the Ritz, but for $90 I would expect a little bit better accommodations. And just some advice, hotel staff - if a single women is booking a room and a truck driver who is flirting with her, is standing RIGHT THERE, please don't announce, "So it's just you, correct? OK. Room 123 - all the way down at the end." Unbelievable.
