Time to renovate!

Posted Nov 22, 2014
Pros: Nothing
Cons: Everything
Location: Location is great. Someone with some money needs to renovate or tear this hotel down and put in another. They would make a fortune at this location
With the oil boom in the Ohio area, it seems we are having to look further and further out for hotel accommodations. This location (from the website) looked OK. My door card key didn't work. Outside entrances to rooms and it was below freezing. I brought the card back, explaining that it didn't work and rather than believe me, she took the card & tried it herself - only to find out that it didn't work. THEN she re-keyed it. You could tell this hotel has been around awhile. No padding under the carpet & several places it was frayed, old TV, heater in the bathroom sounded like it was going to explode (couldn't use it), water spigot was a trickle, towels old and hard, pillows - it took 3 to get comfortable, blanket was thin, lamp shades ripped and filled with holes, eletric outlet plates hanging off the wall, no place to plug in any electronics near the bed, unless you unplugged the lamp or old-school clock radio, even hotel information "flyers" looked like they'd been there for years. I realize I didn't book a room at the Ritz, but for $90 I would expect a little bit better accommodations. And just some advice, hotel staff - if a single women is booking a room and a truck driver who is flirting with her, is standing RIGHT THERE, please don't announce, "So it's just you, correct? OK. Room 123 - all the way down at the end." Unbelievable.

not worth it

I've stayed in Super 8 motels before and have been pleased. However, this particular one was rundown looking. The door to my room looked like it had been kicked in at one point or another and overall the room was just not kept up with. The next time I stay in this area I will definately spend the extra money to stay elsewhere.

Keep on driving.

Pros: It was halfway on our trip.
Cons: Room was uncomfortable
Location: convenient to the interstate
The front desk employee was rude and unhelpful. The room was very hot when we got there and we arrived late so didn't have time to cool down the room before we tried to sleep. No coffee when we left in the morning.

Pretty rangy

Posted Aug 12, 2009
AC didn't work, rain leaked in entry door and soaked carpet (for years), a little dirty.
