Nice hotel but a little far

Posted Oct 24, 2017
The hotel is nice, tucked away in a quiet street. It was a little further away from the center of Old Town than I would have liked. The top floor is a killer after being out on your feet all day long. The hotel bar and gardens are a great place to unwind. Staff is very friendly and helpful.

Close to the sights but out of the hustle and bust

Posted Oct 14, 2017
Pros: Good quality. Excellent breakfast although not the cheapest but definitely good quality
Location: Fairly strenuous walk to the castle but Edinburgh is hilly. Easy walking distance to bars, restaurants and shops. 5 minute walk to tram and buses.
Lovely hotel. Clean and very comfortable. Staff were very helpful. Rooms had everything you might need which included quality products and lovely shortbread

Room not what expected

Posted Sep 14, 2017
The hotel is very well finished. The executive apartment was spacious and also very well finished. It was however in the basement, which I hadn't realised when booking. The window looks out onto hotel bins at the front, is situated directly below the main bar and next to the gents toilet for the main bar. Would visit again but would not book an executive suite.

Lovely boutique hotel

Posted Sep 12, 2017
Pros: Pretty much everything!
Cons: If I could improve anything it would be to maybe change or try and make the mattress on the pull-out sofa a little more comfy than it is.
Location: Wonderful location at the foot of Calton Hill so just a five minute walk to Princes Street.
Fabulous room (apartment), wonderfully attentive staff, beautiful decor and possibly one of the best cooked breakfasts in a hotel I have ever had.

Location: slightly out of the way from historic old town area. Sooo..quiet. But a taxi needed to get to Fringe events.
Lovely space. Decent breakfast. An elevator would have been nice, for the rooms on the upper floors.

Lovely boutique hotel, well-appointed and comfortable rooms. Very helpful, professional and friendly staff. Just at the foot of Calton Hill for the best view of Edinburgh.

Unique hotel and great staff

Posted Aug 22, 2017
Pros: Old building but very bright and well maintained
Cons: Only downside was all the stairs to the top floor
The hotel is in a great location - can walk to anywhere in the City An historic building on Royal Terrace with loads of character but excellently maintained. We had a top floor room with nice views out over the bay & Hibs football ground. The staff were very helpful and friendly and the bar was very good. The hallways are like a modern art gallery, so very interesting and bright - if at times odd!
