Had a lovely stay here, staff were all helpful and friendly, hotel was right at the corner of Lothian and Princes street so very central, room was very nice, clean and spacious, very good breakfast. No complaints at all, would happily come back.

Very Nice Property

Posted Jun 14, 2017
Pros: This location is steps to the Airline 100 and hop on/hop off bus routes. Nearby are shops and great restaurant choices.
Location: The Castle is a short walk and so near Princes Street that you can split your time evenly between Old and New Town walks.
The staff are accommodating and the room was bigger than expected for an in-town property.

Fantastic apartment hotel in the perfect location.

Posted Mar 26, 2017
Rutland Hotel Review Wow! What a fantastic place! The garden apartment 15-1 is spectacular. A true king size bed with en-suite bathroom, two additional bathrooms in the hall, another bedroom with a queen and pull out sofa bed, & an entire living room, study, kitchen and garden terrace with table. Far exceeds expectations & a great value for the money. Why pay for the Waldorf Astoria across the street when this is available?!? That said, on a Friday night we heard some late night revelers on the street. We only stayed Thursday/Friday, and didn't hear anything on Thursday.

Great location, bring your own salt

Posted Jan 7, 2017 on Hotels
A neat apartment on the edge of New Town at the foot of Princes St that was nearly perfect for our stay in Edinburgh. However there were a few minor issues that diminished the luster on the space. Why provide only 4 place settings and silverware for a 2 bedroom apartment? Why provide a snazzy color coordinated salt shaker but not load it with salt? It is almost as if the interior decorator didn't stay for a day to make sure that the kitchen was actually stocked for use which at the price seems like an oversight. Overall an excellent space for a family visit and with a few minor changes would live up to its 5 star prices.

Idea for City Centre attractions and the Castle

Posted Jan 4, 2017
Great if you are a family and require more than one bedroom in the same apartment. The apartment is superbly decorated and furnished. It is ideally located next to The Castle gardens at one end of Princess Street. We were in Edinburgh to watch Mamma Mia at the Playhouse and had a great time.
