Very nice accommodation, centrally situated

Posted Aug 26, 2015
Pros: Very clean and comfortable.
Cons: Glass of wine provided between 6 and 7 in the evenings. Facility for tea/coffee in the rooms or lobby would have been useful.
Location: Handy for shopping in midtown and 5th Avenue. Within walking distance of the theatre district.
Spent a week here and the accommodation was very good. Conveniently situated on Park Avenure, near Grand Central for trains and subways. Staff helpful and pleasant.

Central location & Friendly Staff

Posted Aug 23, 2015
Great overall experience. The staff were amazing! Provided us with top service and we enjoyed the initial wine event when we arrived. The house wines were delicious and a pleasant treat after the journey. My only issue was that the plumbing backed up on us in the shower and the sink every time we ran the water. Outside of that, it was a good stay and everything you would expect from a Kimpton.

Cleanliness of facilities

I was very surprised to see both the lobby and elevator dirty. Also, since I stayed three nights I expected more than one soap my entire stay.

nice centrally located hotel

Posted Aug 16, 2015
Nice hotel in a great location. The room was spacious enough by nyc standards, with teo real queen beds. However, outside noise was quite high. But the biggest problem was the siza of the bathroom. Even by nyc standards, this bathroom was ridiculously small It was difficult for a dingle person to close the door after walking into the bathroom. When we raised the issue with the front desk, we were told all queen queen room have the same set up. Staff did nothing to compensate with the issue.

Great location

Posted Aug 13, 2015
This hotel was amazingly quiet, an oasis in NYC. Perfectly located 600 metres from Grand Central station and two blocks from 5th Ave it was a great base for all our exploring. Only downsides were the wifi wasn't free and the tiny bathroom.

Smelly rooms!

Posted Aug 11, 2015
Pros: The best part of the hotel is the staff. The staff addressed my room complaint quickly and removed the internet charge right away. Location.
Cons: Room cleanliness. Fresh, new towels. White bathrobes. Bathroom accessories that aren't chipped/broken.
Location: It's on Park Avenue in Murray Hill. Great place. Do your research, don't stay here.
A few years ago, my husband (who is a lawyer) and I stayed at the 70 Park Ave because the Kimpton was a client. Our stay was pleasant. Expecting another pleasant stay, I was shocked to get a tiny room that was about 12 ft. square, and smelled like mildew. I'm petite, and the bathroom was cramped even for me. The receptionist "upgraded" me to a larger room, but it badly smelled like mold and mildew too. With a "no refund" policy, I didn't know what my alternatives were, so I stayed. The towels were torn and threadbare, the bath robes were faded cheetah print, bathroom accessories were chipped plastic. The internet was so bad, I used my personal data plan (which is very expensive), and told the reception at check-out that I would be disputing the 2-day charges for high speed internet since it didn't work. The best part of the hotel is the staff and location on Park Ave. in Murray Hill. The staff addressed my room complaint quickly and removed the internet charge right away. When the bellboy was there (often he wasn't), he was helpful and kind. My husband, who didn't travel with me this time, was shocked to hear what I had to say. It was simply awful. I do not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Thank you for taking the time to provide honest feedback from your stay with us. While I am pleased to hear that you and your husband decided to return to 70 Park, I'm saddened to know that your second experience with us fell short of your expectations. We pride ourselves in providing top notch services and amenities for our guests, and I am genuinely sorry that you did not encounter that. I sincerely apologize for the issues that you experienced during your stay with us and have addressed your feedback to our management team. I hope that this experience will not deter you from staying at other Kimpton hotels, and I hope in the future that you will decide to give us a third chance to ensure that your stay is nothing less than flawless and show you our true Kimpton colors that you saw during your first stay with us. Boutique hotel in quiet location

Posted Aug 10, 2015
Small boutique hotel that is in a quiet area close to Grand Central and other tourist sites. Easy walk to Empire States Building, Time Square, etc. I was there for work and really enjoyed how quiet this hotel was and the rooms were a nice size for NY standards. Easy walk to my office and the evenings were quiet since you are a little ways from Time Square.
