Wonderful oasis in MidtownPosted Nov 4, 2015
Came in for the nyc marathon andthe hotel was awesome. Starting with the check in and the complimentary wine and the ny times and the coffee in the morning and the wine happy hour in the evening. Hard for us to leave but hopefully will be back soon. And for marathoners great location across the street from catching the bus to the start and just a short walk from the finish in central park

No bath, no breakfast, lost you a perfect score.Posted Oct 14, 2015
Pros: The relaxed reception area, no desk, rather an island full of staff. A contempary atmosphere, casual yet up-market. Great location, exquisite shower.
Cons: At this price rate, I expected morning breakfast, perhaps my fault for not checking. No bath? Very disappointed, again, my responsibility to check?
Location: Perfect for everything Manhattan can throw at you.
A 40th birthday trip for my wife, it had to be a special hotel, The Andaz does not disappoint. Staff were courteous, knowledgable but never intrusive, the room was an oasis of calm, great view across the street of the Library. Super clean with a beautiful bed. Styling was minimalist chic. Complimentary wine at 5pm in the reception, a nice touch too. Location is perfect, Grand Central station is a block behind, and Times Square/Broadway a 10 minute stroll away, we found uptown and downtown Manhattan all within easy reach, the perfect sunny autumn weather was a real bonus too. The restaurant, The Shop has an upmarket and relaxed vibe, as does the bar in the cellar. A huge range of cocktails with excellent service. A mixture of post-work professionals and guests works effortlessly.

Wahnsinn nur zu empfehlen!Posted Aug 31, 2015
Super central.

fashionable hotel on 5th avenuePosted Aug 24, 2015
Pros: design and location.
Cons: i had to find staff at the lobby sometimes.
Location: public library, brant park.
I stayed two night in standard room and it was great. everything is new and clean. all staff dressed like guest so you have to guess who is working. closet was a bit small and no drawer so you have to figure out. very high sealing, modern design, nice big screen of TV, simple light system, great bathroom.

Very poor example of what Andaz concept by Hyatt.Posted Aug 22, 2015 on Hotels
It is Andaz so you would expect top quality service but at this Andaz, you shouldn't. Entrance door is so huge and heavy I don't think anyone smaller than 6 feet can't open it on own strength. Their doorman (a woman) wouldn't help you. May be because she kept her self inside the hotel to avoid the hot summer temperature in New York. I've never seen her help anyone during my entire stay at the hotel. That kind of sums up of the level of service at this Andaz. Nobody really is willing to help the guest. They are cold and inattentive. Every time you would ask for something, they would be very reserved and unwilling to the whatever the inquiry was. Because of this, you would think twice to dare ask anything hence make your stay at the hotel very uncomfortable. On contrary, every one at the hotel's signature restaurant The Shop are so well trained and professional, always put the customer first, always very kind and helpful. Very opposite of the hotel's front desk staff and guest relation staff. I would not stay there again unless I have to.
