Great location close to shopping and felt safe

Cons: My show had hair in it, the room was very stuffy and hot when I arrived.
Was a nice stay what I expected.The check in employee was not very friendly but it was late at night and I am sure she was just tired.

Clean, comfortable, and concenient

Pros: Convenient location, helpful staff, included breakfast.
Cons: Room size, water pressure.
We stayed at the Best Western Gregory while visiting our daughter in New York. The hotel was easy to find and located in a convenient area for our trip. The R subway line stops only two blocks away so it was easy to get where we were going without a car. Very nice. Overall, the hotel was clean and the room was comfortable. We really appreciated the breakfast that was included every day. More about that in a bit. The front desk staff was very professional and helpful. The cleaning staff was efficient. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean and appeared to be recently refurbished. The only thing we would have liked changed was that the room was on the small side. There was a large wardrobe at the foot of the bed and it was only 14 inches from the bed so it was very hard to walk in between. Maybe that was only our room. Others have complained about the noise but we didn't have any problems with that. We were on the fourth floor and faced the street and we didn't really notice the traffic or subway noise. The breakfast was very good. They had the usual waffle machine but also scrambled eggs and either bacon or sausage every morning. That was accompanied by oatmeal, cereal, bagels and toast, hard boiled eggs, yogurt, and a selection of coffee, teas, and juices. We did note that the coffee carafes were small and needed constant refilling. One day we waited an hour for the staff to refill them. Overall our stay was pleasant and we would happily stay there again.

NO A.C. working

Called front desk around midnight letting them know room 309 A.C. unit is not working. I explained to them the room is not acceptable, I need to be moved. They send up a maintenance Man who kneels down and tells me the coils are not frozen. I happen to be a licensed HVAC Engineer and understand the issue but at this point get me out. No rooms were available so they came back with a screw driver to open the window. I know sometimes units break down but my problem is nobody even called to apologize or offer some money back, absolutely nothing. I paid $160.00 for a sweaty nights stay and offered nothing for the problem.

We were notified of the problem you were experiencing and due to the hotel being sold out, were unable to move you to another room. We have since addressed the matter here at the property and have purchased 5 new A/C units to replace the defective unit and any others that may go bad in the future as we enter the warmer months of the year. Once again we do apologize for the inconveniences experienced with your stay with us. In regards to any refunds, since you book with and paid a 3rd party agency, the hotel did not collect any moneys from you directly. However, we will be contacting you directly to discuss a resolution to the issues you have experienced with us. A fine stay

Pros: Clean and quiet room. Friendly staff.
We had a family reunion not far away and the Gregory was perfectly located. The staff were friendly, the room clean and the service just fine. We had a room facing the back and it was quiet. Valet parking worked out fine. It usually only took 10-15 minutes to get our car. Breakfast included was ok.

Had a great experience. Only set back is on-site parking. You either have to pay for parking or hunt for street residential parking competing with the neighborhood residents; and be careful to read the signs properly otherwise you get ticketed or towed.

Nice hotel close to my daughter's house. Only thing that could have made it better is parking. Wasted a lot of time looking for a space on street.

Close walking distance

Pros: Proximity to our granddaughter and ability to walk
Cons: Upgrades in guest rooms would be nice to see
We choose this hotel because it is the closest walking distance when visiting our granddaughter. The lobby area has been remodeled, but it doesn't appear anything has been done with the rooms yet. Floors seemed to be slanted and uneven.

I enjoy my short time there. The only issue I had was the room AC wasn't so strong and it was warm in the room.
