Lack of communication about closed restaurant

Posted Aug 29, 2016
After staying last year, we booked again, but were very disappointed that we were not told about the in house restaurant being closed and having a makeshift poor substitute breakfast offering across the road in a cafe. Never again. ..

schönes sauberes Hotel

Posted Aug 24, 2016

Location location location

Great location in the heart of mid town NYC . However I missed their in-house free breakfast convenience that was located across the street . Rooms were extremely comfortable though they could use a little sprucing up . Quality coffee brewer and miniature microwave made quick snack leftovers a bonus .

Thank you for your kind comments . the in-house breakfast will be back as soon as our new restaurant opens in the Fall. We are all excited about that .

So close to everything we wanted to do

Posted Aug 2, 2016
Pros: The central location and the excellent staff.
Cons: Someplace to grab a quick bite to eat in the hotel.
Location: The Blakely was just a few blocks from Central Park, one block from Carnegie Hall, and a few blocks from Times Square and Broadway.
We were in NYC for a four-day stay, with plans to attend two Broadway shows and attend two NY Mets ballgames, as well as sightsee. The Blakely was perfectly located for us to walk to Central Park, Times Square, Carnegie Hall, Broadway, and many shops and restaurants. When we needed to leave the immediate area, we used the hop-on, hop-off bus, which was also very close by; or the subway. There was a subway stop just half a block from the Blakely, and we could make the transfers we needed after catching the subway there. The hotel staff could not have been more helpful or friendly - definitely the thing that made the Blakely stand out for us. The restaurant was closed while we were there, and they provided breakfast for us across the street at Au Bon Pain. That was the only thing that was inconvenient, but we appreciated that they still provided a breakfast to us.

thank you for staying with us and we are glad that you had a good time . The breakfast at Au Bon Pain is temporary until the new restaurant opens in the fall .

Great location and value

We loved staying at the Blakely. We were there for 5 nights and had a great time. The location is great, right between Central Park and Times Square. The staff was friendly and helpful and the room was a good size. We thought it was a great hotel for the price and would definitely return.

loud and noisy

Posted Jul 23, 2016
I would shy away from the area. To much noise at night, sirens, trucks and not to forget the 6:00 AM morning hammers from the construction. For 4 days straight we endured the loud noise starting from 6:00 am.

Sorry that you did not enjoy your stay . In the future , please call the desk or the Manager on duty and maybe we can move you to the other side of the hotel or to a higher floor . We always try to work things out to make your stay an enjoyable one .

Wonderful--upgraded us to a suite to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary. Always stay here when we visit New York and won;t stay anywhere else.

The staff were very accommodating. The lobby was small but nicely decorated. The elevators were small and tired, very much in need of renovation. The hotel upgraded me to a nice suite which was greatly appreciated. I would say that overall, it was a good experience and good value.
