"Overall hotel is nice"
Overall hotel staff were nice and very helpful and that's the only reason I will recommend the hotel. Beside this I had some not so pleasant experience. I received a room right across the elevator which was really noisy (beeping every floor). Also standard size room bed is very small. I asked to get a different room which is not located next to the elevator but was advised that the only room available is on the 4th floor (comparing to the 27th floor I was at the time), therefore I had no choice but to upgrade to queen room, that was very dissappointing and I expected the hotel to be more helpful. Also checking in was very frustrating, I arrived early in the morning and advised that it's highly possible I will be able to get a room early. Eventually my room wasn't ready even for the agreed check-in time and I had to wait.

The hotel is well situated and very impressively fitted out, with nice design touches, a stylish bathroom and, best of all, the room I had came complete with a private balcony, looking out over south Manhattan. It was close to a subway stop, and there was a good range of bars and restaurants in the area.

"NYC stay in Soho"
The hotel is really lovely and this is the second time we have stayed there. We had a room on the 10th floor and unfortunately could hear the refuse collectors when they collected at 5am in the morning. Other than that, we loved the hotel and the staff were helpful.

"Great Concept Hotel"
The Yotel is a fairly new concept in hotels. They started off as airport hotels in the UK and this is their first venture into city centre hotels so far. I can see the concept would work very well at airports, only time will tell if it translates to other locations without tweaking. Checking in was very simple, no human interaction is needed at all. You just tap in your reservation number, name etc to one of the terminals in the lobby and it prints your room key cards for you. There's also a really neat automated left luggage robot that will store your luggage if you arrive to early to check in. There will be a few staff around if you get into trouble, in the lobby they are known as "Ground Control". Then you move up to the 4th floor. Here is the nerve centre of the hotel. There are a few staff around mainly known as hosts or hostesses (are you getting the aircraft analogy now?). There is a nice open air terrace with a bar, a good restaurant and the tea, coffee and water stations. There is no "normal" room service in the Yotel and no tea and coffee making facilities in the room. Instead you can order food to go and collect it from the 4th floor - and you can get your hot and cold drinks there too. The drinks are free as are the muffins they provide at breakfast time. We only had one meal in the restaurant, but it was very good (Tuna burger and fries). Rooms in the Yotel are known as cabins. The room was clean, the bed was very comfortable and the TV was good. The room was

"Great location."
Centrally located , easy walk to the theater district or Central City Park. Rooms were comfortable, very quiet and spacious but no view other than the side of a building. Bathroom was a little small but well equipped. My impression of the hotel is that it is a cross between a full service hotel and a more standard limited service hotel.

"Big price for a dark room with no sunlight."
The hotel is beautiful and well located. But, the room was dark no sunlight, and uncomfortable to work in. Upon my complaint, management sent me an additional lamp! To be fair, they also offered to change me to a different room, but It seemed too much of a hassle given that I was leaving the next day. They should have offered a discount on the room price, but they didn't.

"Hotel Heaven near Madison "
I recently spend 5 nights at The Surrey and could not have been happier. My room was spacious and tastefully furnished - the bed, in particular, was a dream. The staff clearly take pride in their work and are courteous and eager to accommodate any of your needs. Special mention must go to the housekeeping staff who were unobtrusive but efficient. I eagerly anticipate my next stay.
