Nice hotel, convenient location

Posted Sep 4, 2016
The rooms are clean and modern, the staff are friendly, nice facilities in the lobby (tea, coffee, water, lounge), wifi is great and the location is perfect with plenty to do around soho and little Italy as well as a subway stop right next to the hotel

Wifi coverage could be better. Otherwise everything else was excellent!

Affordable, great location

Great location, at converging point of Chinatown, Little Italy, Nolita and Tribeca with multiple subway entries. High ceilings, nice rooms and friendly, helpful staff.

very small but clean rooms. very nice staff helping us with all questions. rooms are loud because of NYC traffic but therefore you Can walk to WTC, Hudson River and other attractions. subway is directly in front of hotel. good location for a City trip.

Nice staff, comfy bed, but super noisy

Posted May 30, 2016 on Hotels
Staff were great. But for anyone who needs a quiet room that stays dark until they plan on getting up, this is not the hotel. All rooms face onto an extremely noisy intersection, and the windows do not have blackout curtains on them. Earplugs are supplied, but they don't drown out the sound of big trucks rattling down the road and horns blasting all through the night. Both Canal and Lafayette seem to be a major thoroughfare for trucks. And the light shines in at the crack of dawn. If the hotel sealed the windows better for sound and installed blackout curtains, it would be a big help. It was so loud in our room it felt like the windows were wide open. We had to change hotels because of the problem. And we had to stay two nights because we had to give 24 hours cancellation notice to get a refund for the remainder of our stay. Staff were really apologetic and did their best to help, but they still charged us one night (a Friday) at the top per night rate instead of the Hotels.com discount rate. If we book through a discount service, I feel that every night should be at a discount, not just one night. It turned out to be an expensive mistake.
