Staff is very accommodating. The property is in need for updating but with that would come increased room rates. So, you get what you pay for. The hotel is located in a safe area of the upper west side and one block from subway access.

It's a bit worn around the edges, but everything we needed was here. We know the area and felt safe here and everything we needed, including the subway, was within walking distance.

Loved the Night Hotel. The room appointments are a bit older, but nonetheless comfortable with a flatscreen tv, refrigerator, comfy beds and an updated bathroom. The location of the hotel is fantastic, with plenty of dining options in the vicinity, the 96th st subway stop less than a minute from the hotel entrance, and Central Park a short 7 minute walk away. The staff were also helpful and friendly.

Property could use a bit of a renovation touch-up—lot of wear and tear around the floors, boards up over empty wall panels, etc. Also the vending and ice machines are inconvenient, with different floors for each but only found one working vending machine (5th floor) but had to go to another ice machine (7th) for ice. Also very hard most mornings to get hot water in shower even after turning fixture all the way open and waiting a couple minutes. Mostly took cold showers during the week’s stay. Otherwise it’s a great place for the location & cost. Nearby Duane Reade right at the corner for your convenience store needs, plenty of restaurants within walking distance, and the 96th subway station just down the block. Beds were clean & comfortable, rooms are quiet, staff very friendly.

The Night Hotel was absolutely adequate. And for the lower price of the rooms, I am very satisfied with the place overall. They rooms and promised amenities were as advertised (mostly, see my complaint about the WiFi as the big exception). Housekeeping was considerate and any interactions with staff were fine. However, for all five night of my stay, one of the elevators was down. The floor plan is very confusing on finding your room. The carpet could use a good cleaning. The shower drain did not do it's job well at all. And the vending machines were stated to be on specific floors, but when I checked one, it had no buttons. The issue of vending machines is easily made up for by the hotel's location, though. On the exact same block is a little nameless shop where one can buy whatever soda they could have wanted from aachone, and then some. The location overall is fantastic. A subway exit/entrance is right around the corner, a good sandwich/food shop for all meals of the day is across the street on the corner. And almost directly across the street is a FANTASTIC taqueria restaurant (Taqueria 86). There are also other great places to eat or get what you need around. The biggest problem for me was the WiFi. I had to make this a working trip, but the WiFi was unreliable. Some devices stayed connected, some didn't. And the access point(s) kept bouncing. It made using their wifi for work impossible for me and I had to use my phone as a hotspot instead of the promised amenity.

While there was no specific incident that spoiled my experience, the quality of the hotel was awful. The carpet was stained all over the place, I found tons of hair in my bed, and the shower would never warm up. Just generally very low quality and even kind of sketchy.

It is conveniently located so you can walk. The room had no refrigerator. Staff forgot to replace cups, towels, etc. You pay $14 for water and snacks. I never got any snacks. The place needs some TLC. Staff was friendly. Very basic hotel.

The was disappointed with the properties appearance. Rooms were dusty, window cracks, and rusty radiators, floor rug lifted from the floor and paint chips on the walls. Receptionist moved me to another room and still the same problem! For the price and location i expect more. The pictures were very deceiving.

Unfortunately the first day the elevator wasn’t working so we had to go up to the 10th floor using the stairs after a long walk in Manhattan, overall the size of the room was nice understanding that’s it’s an old building, service was good and friendly
