ComodissimoPosted Nov 24, 2015
Hotel carinissimo a due passi da Time Square. Pulito, gentilissimo e disponibilissimo personale. Tutto veramente Ok per vivere il cuore di NY. Unico neo il letto francese per me un pochino piccolo ma è veramente cercare il pelo nell'uovo.

Nice hotel close enough to everythingPosted Nov 22, 2015
Very good hotel. Nice and quite considering its location and compared to others. Hotel staff extremely friendly and knowledgeable. Only let down was no in room dining which is what we wanted after travelling for 28hrs.

Zentral gelegenes HotelPosted Nov 21, 2015

At least the roach was dead.Posted Nov 20, 2015
Located amidst the Times Square rat race, and literally a 15 feet walk (directly across the street) from Port AuthorityBus terminal. Def not a positive feature. Staff helpful and pleasant. They gave us a king bed even though I specified two double beds. I was traveling with my son (26 years). They wanted to see my expedia confirmation to prove I acually did purchase two doubles. They were fully booked but luckily gave us a room with 2 doubles. Little did we know, they also gave us a room with a roach already occupying it. Fortunately, it was dead, but gross just the same. It was difficult to feel all cozy comfy getting into bed. There is usually a reason why a hotel is 30% cheaper than others in its class.

Great value and location !!Posted Nov 20, 2015
Pros: Almost everything.
Cons: The bar and food offering.
Location: We found it very easy to get to almost anything. Times Square, Subway, Rockefeller Center, Theaters, and shopping.
This hotel was a very good value and in a great location. The accommodations were very nice, with a bathroom that you could actually turn around in. Fantastic shower and nice counter space. The room was clean and had everything you could possibly need. The hotel staff could not have been more helpful. No matter what you needed, they were there to help. Needed a ride back to the airport and to our surprise, there was a limo waiting that cost the same as our taxi there. I would definitely stay at The Distrikt Hotel again !! Just a couple blocks from Times Square !!

Nice hotel. Shame about the street it is on.Posted Nov 18, 2015
Nice hotel. It is very narrow spread over 32 floors. It is clean, tidy nice decor and friendly staff. If you find the rooms at a good price then it's worth it. However the street it is on lets it down big time. 342 w40th is the address, opposite the bus station (good transport links but it is dirty unattractive building noisy building). It is a few doors away from the nyc Parole Office!! There is also a scummy looking store selling cheap alcohol. We always found plenty of undesirable people at all times of day along this stretch of road and felt unsafe at times. This stretch of 40th street attracts lots of homeless and dodgy looking people and the pavement just a few yards walk away from the hotel frequently smelt of urine (on two occasions in the middle of the day we actually saw men stood blatantly urinating up the bus station wall opposite the hotel!). There is also lots of building work going on either side of the hotel at the moment and looks like it's a fair few months if not a year or so away from completion. All of this is not the hotels fault. Just please be aware before you book and try not to pay over the odds for a room because these things effect the overall expereance of your stay in nyc.

recommended.Posted Nov 18, 2015
Pros: Location and staff friendliness.
Cons: Annoying that they automatically put tip onto any bill, surely that's at customers discretion. Bar prices expensive.
Location: See above
Modern and clean hotel very close to Times Square. Subway station at top of street handy for J.F.K airport, and same line to 9/11, (a must visit). Staff excellent, friendly and helpful. There is building work either side of the hotel but as its only during working hours it doesn't affect your stay.
