Great location for touristy things.Posted Dec 31, 2015
Pros: The location and the beds!
Cons: Room booked for 3 but only 2 towels/2 washcloths. After room service came the next day they only left 1 of each. But service was quick when requested.
Location: Tic Toc Dinner is cool and has great food. Empire State Building is close by and Times Square isn't a back walk. Neither is the 9/11 Memorials.
The hotel is very nice and the location is great. The Bellmen and Concierge were very friendly and helpful but the check in ladies were not too friendly. There were only 2 elevators and 1 didn't work one day so the wait was annoying. But you only had to wait when you were leaving and when you were coming back in at night so it wasn't too bad.

Perfect proximity to MSG.Posted Dec 23, 2015
Easy walk to MSG. We arrived at 7:40 for an 8pm show. Checked in tossed stuff in our room and walked over. It was Billy Joel so a long line and he started at 8:25. We even had time for a drink and a snack before curtain.

clutterPosted Dec 20, 2015
I specifically booked a king bed and I got a double bed, small cramp up room, cluttered, I informed front desk, she said that I booked 3rd party that is what I get, they were booked, no heat, it wasn't working, froze to bones, I am sick at home right now, horrible, no sleep from mo heat...upset with room. .We stay out once in a while, when we go out, to have alone time, no kids...froze, unsatisfied with the room. ..I ve stay in Hilton in Vegas, and Puerto Rico lots of times, this has been the worst. .this is for groups trips...never go again. .will start finding a different chain of hotels.

Very Bad experiencePosted Dec 10, 2015
Check in was fairly easy and straight forward. I received a bit of attitude, but nothing dramatic. 1 - I got to my room, and there weren't any waters. I called the front desk, and I was told to come down and get some waters. It took 5 minutes to catch the elevator. 2- There was blood on the Toilet Paper in the restroom 3- My frustration occurred on my way to the airport. The doorman asked if I would like to take the "house car" to the airport. He said that it was a flat rate of $55, inclusive of tax, gratuity, etc. Cash or credit. The car was a run down towncar that wreaked of gasoline. The driver didn't have his identification visible. 10 min into the car ride, the driver asked me the rate. I was completely caught off guard. I responded with $55 flat Rate is what the doorman told me. Then, the driver asked if I would be paying with cash or credit. I responded with credit and then he told me that there would be an additional charge. I told him that the doorman said that there was a flat rate, cash/charge. After an interesting exchange of words, the driver asked about gratuity, and again I responded with, "the doorman said that it was a flat rate of $55, inclusive of tax, gratuity, etc. Cash or credit." Fortunately, I had cash, so I told the driver that I would just pay cash, and I still gave him a tip. The doorman was obviously taking some sort of kickback from the driver. As a Doubletree/Hilton employee, he should be looking out for the client's best interest...not his own

Nice HotelPosted Dec 7, 2015
Pros: Front desk staff was friendly
Cons: Better lighting in front of building (or better signage); also I found it difficult to get a cab and had to walk few blocks in order to get one
Location: Walking distance to Macy's and shops/restaurants
Staff was great/location not so convenient; I could not get a cab because street was blocked by cops early AM between 7-8AM

Top location for a sightseeing trip!Posted Nov 29, 2015
We got what we had paid for. We were looking for a hotel in Manhattan near a metro station (Red & blue line) and that hotel is a perfect pick for a sightseeing trip. Room was okay - two cozy big beds but - and a nice bathroom. Room was always clean. Staff was always friendly - replacing a broken down blow dryer took 45 minutes. I can definitely recommend the hotel for tourists (check out the Irish pub around for a drink!).
