Overpriced, dirty hotel

Upon arrival place looked good, nice fresh reception., the receptionist told us that the room we had booked was not available so they had given us a different one and adjusted the price accordingly. It was late and we were tired so we were just happy to get a bed. Arriving at the room it was small but well appointed, no view but this had already been discussed. We went out in the local area lots of great pubs and restaurants. When we go back to the room we got ready for bed and realised once our shoes were off that the floor was sticky and damp all over, it was so disgusting that we couldnt walk on it with our bare feet. We went down to recrotiin and complained, the man was apologetic but there were no other rooms, we requested a late check out as we were so tired which was fine.
We were then woken up in the morning by house keeping asking why we weren't out the room, we explained we had late check out which she didn't have record of and would have to check.
We went down to check out since we were up already and explained to the very rude receptionist about the discount for the wrong room, she had no record of this, the man who had said about the discount shouldn't have and if we wanted to take it further we'd have to wait on a manager who wasnt around. When we got back there was a different receptionist who had everything down in writing and offered us our discount...finally, no apology!
