Funky Hotel in Great LocationPosted Nov 8, 2015
Pros: It's got a great vibe - always seems to be bustling, there are 3 bars within the hotel, all frequented by NYers so not just places for hotel guests.
Cons: The hotel is starting to getting a little tired - scuff marks in the room on walls and furniture etc.
Location: The hotel is situated in the midst of great eateries, Chelsea Market, the High Line Park, West Village, and handy to the subway.
This is very funky hotel in an awesome location. It's described as boutique but is still sizeable which means you have the benefit of being full service/well staffed while still not feeling like you're staying at a major chain. The location in my view is unbeatable if you are not a first time visitor to New York and prefer the more chilled downtown Manhattan which in parts has a nice village vibe to it vs. the hustle and bustle of Time Square. Having said that it is not far from mid-town but perhaps not the perfect location for a first timer who wants to do Times Square, Central Park etc. although one could argue you are getting the best of both worlds with this location but that would be something to consider depending on your interests. The hotel is situated in the midst of great eateries, Chelsea Market, the High Line Park, West Village, handy to the subway so I really can't fault it for location and vibe. Staff were always friendly, approachable and attentive although sometimes a little quick to respond rather than taking a moment to listen and understand the issue/request so we did at times have the wrong person turn up to resolve something as a consequence of staff not taking time listen and understand the issue - however they were always quick to send through the correct person to resolve it. All in all, I'd highly recommend Dream Downtown for a stay in NY, I'd definitely stay again.

Bra läge med promenadsvstånd till det mesta.Posted Oct 25, 2015
Nära till Chelsea market & the High Line. Många bra restauranger & shopping vid Chelses market. Rekommenderar "The Grey Dog" i närheten till frukost... Promenadavstånd runt Times Square/Soho/Noho etc....

Convenient Location, But That's About It!Posted Oct 17, 2015
Cons: Staff, organization, cleanliness, management of guests
This was my 28th time visiting NYC and I was anxious to try out Dream Downtown and experience staying in the revived Chelsea neighborhood. Based on the pictures of the facility, Dream looked like a very comfortable, spacious, and hip place to stay. Unfortunately, the best part about the hotel are the pictures on the website which grossly exaggerate the property across the board. It is very dark and uninviting when you arrive and the staff that checked us in seemed annoyed and condescending when any questions were asked. The primary hotel bar was tiny at best and drinks were grossly overpriced even by NYC standards.......if you ever got waited on. The room was far from clean and smelled musty the entire stay. The 'trendy' lighting system is just downright annoying and the bathroom door has no knob or lock, just a 'hip' hole that eliminates privacy. Obviously, someone thought this would 'cool,' but it's simply annoying. Add to the fact that a large group of 'musicians' from around were staying in the hotel and you have a loud, dirty, and mismanaged environment not conducive to anyone trying to enjoy their stay. Nothing against literally hundreds of 'musicians' staying at a hotel, but the staff needs to manage and organize it much better. For example, twice, we got to enjoy watching people puking the lobby and once right outside the front doors. Don't let the website pictures or previous reviews fool you, there are ALOT better options in midtown!

Dissapointing.Posted Oct 4, 2015
Cons: The hotel seemed to feel that the night club and its guests warranted more focus than hotel guests.
Location: Great location.
Disappointing in a number of respects with several instances of poor service.

Terrible! Would NEVER recommendPosted Sep 24, 2015
First when I arrived I was told that I had to leave a $300.00 deposit for incidentals, if didn't pay I would not have been allowed to check in. A charge I was not made aware of prior to my arrival. When I only had $150.00 the front desk manager yells out take the $150.00 and then go up to the room and remove everything from bar. Next I requested a steamer be sent to my room you see I booked the room for my daughters senior prom and I had to steam her dress. While the steamer was sitting on the cradle the steam rose and because I was standing just below the alarm it went off. When i went to the front desk to explain my error in not realizing the alarm was above me and if they could please send maintenance to turn it off, i was told they were already there no problem. I get back to my room in time to hear security tell maintenance to remove the steamer from my room, he didn't care what i needed it for and that he doesn t trust me I look like trouble. Mind you my bill was already paid but okay. Not wanting to ruin my daughter's day by complainig I did what I needed to do and sent her on her way. When I reserved my room I put in that I would be staying with 2 adults and 1 child. Tell me why they put me on a floor right down the hall from 1 of the many nightclubs/bars located in the building. My baby daughter couldnt leave the room after a certain time because I didnt want her to come in contact with the drunk people coming in and out of the clubs. Ive run out of room but...

Decent hotel, close to work.Posted Sep 16, 2015
Cons: The bed was too soft, although staff did change it for me after the first night.
The staff was consistently friendly and accomodating. While in the middle of Fashion Week, there were crowds of people coming to the very trendy night club on site, but even in the midst of chaos the hotel staff was focused on taking care of us guests.
