we chose this hotel on the fly through expedia hoping it was a good choice. We were so happy when we opened the door. Even had water bottles waiting for us. Nice touch. The iron didn't work so we called down to the desk and we had a new one in 5 min. The continental breakfast was great.

If I could just get in!

Posted Jun 21, 2015
Pros: Clean and the front desk staff.
Cons: Maintenance response, waited to long for him and then he was not prepare to fix the issue.
Location: Kinda in the middle of no where. One mile walking distance to a small shopping mall.
We had a very good stay overall. The location in kinda in the middle of no where. Across from the New York Police Academy and 1 mile walking distance to a small shopping mall. It is near the second China Town as some of the locals refer to the area. Food is very good if you-want to treat yourself to Asian Cuisine. I was there for a retirement ceremony at Ft Totten and on Saturday evening after the ceremony, we were going out to meet and have dinner with a group of friends. This is where the stay change for us a little. We had a ride bring us back to the Fairfield and wait while my wife and daughter changed. Our magnetic room keys would not open the door. Went down to the front desk and she re-keyed them, I went back up and still the keys did not work. Went back down to the front desk and she tried again; I went back up and again no success. This time the maintenance /engineer came up to the room and tried. He was not prepare to fix the the issue, it took him three trips to get what he needed. Needless to say, it took just short of an hour to get us in. This created stress for my wife, as being late for anything is not good and the driving distance was complicated by the Belmont Race, so traffic was horrible to say the least. Overall good stay, just wished the room key incident could have been handle better.

Close to the airport.

Pros: Clean, neat, and staff was excellent.
Cons: I'm not sure who was responsible but, when I made the reservation I was told I ha long term parking. I was not told it would be ON THE STREET!
Only stayed one night before early AM flight. The hotel was clean, bright and staff was excellent, answering any and all questions we had.

Great airport hotel

Posted Jun 2, 2015 on Hotels
If you need a hotel near the airport then book this hotel. Great staff, free airport shuttle and free hot/cold breakfast. Neighborhood is not ideal but found restaurant that delivers to hotel. The noise of arriving /departing planes can be heard inside room but remember you want a place near the airport so that's what you will get.

Great Airport Hotel

Posted May 30, 2015 on Hotels
We only stayed for one night and this hotel's location was ideal in avoiding the traffic mess that is common in NY. The hotel staff were great especially the airport shuttle driver. He was very helpful and friendly. The hotel was in good condition and there is a free hot/cold breakfast which has good food selection - also makes the room rate reasonable with the free airport shuttle. Since they are located near the airport, the noise from arriving/departing planes can be heard inside the room. There was also some challenge in getting dinner since we don't have a rental car but they have a suggested restaurant that delivers to the hotel for an added delivery charge. We opted to search online and found Sal's pizza with free delivery if you reach the required minimum order. Pleasant stay all in all.

Parking!!!!!

Posted May 28, 2015 on Hotels
Good overall, but you need a bigger parking lot. I was not comfortable parking my car on the street because the hotel parking lot is limited to about several spaces.

Nice, comfortable and quiet

Posted May 27, 2015 on Hotels
it was a nice, comfortable and quiet hotel. I slept very well and the room was very clean. The neighborhood was quiet but i saw racoons running around at night. The only issue i had was that i wasn't a fan of the continental breakfast. I personally did not enjoy it.
