Central SquatPosted Oct 1, 2015
Pros: Its location and the staff.
Cons: Where do I start.
Location: Location was within a couple of blocks of Times Square (worth a quick visit) and Bryant Park (which had a rodeo style party going all weekend)
Too small by far for 5 nights and any luggage - and I mean the second room (the first we would have had to leave the next day). The Jamaican gentleman on reception (and the rest of the staff really) was very helpful and pleasant. There it ended. This "inn" supposedly by "Marriott" can't be the same Marriott that has the Marriott hotel chain, at least not the Marriotts I have been in. I know the Pope was visiting NY (didn't before we went, but that's our own lack of planning) and there was a UN convention (ditto the planning thing), but for around £350 (yes, pounds) per night we would have expected a great deal more. The room was small, no drawers, very small cupboard (top shelf for coffee maker), furniture, bathroom, fittings a little tired. The view from the window was disgusting - backside of other buildings undergoing construction (nets and ropes and cables and graffiti - definitely not up to "banksi" standards). Extremely disappointing hotel especially for the price. Virtually everything else at the time was more expensive. My advise to anyone going to NY is to do your homework, if prices for hotels look high there's probably something on and a change of date (if possible) might be in order to get a better deal.

Great location, short on spacePosted Sep 20, 2015
This is a good hotel in a great location, 10-15 minutes from Times square, the Empire state building and Rockerfeller center. It is also around the corner from Bryant park which is a lovely place to get away from the hustle of the city and has a fantastic restaurant at the library end. The staff at the hotel are very friendly and the rooms are well maintained and clean. My only negative would be the size of the rooms, ample for a weekend break but we were there for 5 nights as part of a tour so were falling over our cases due to lack of room.

Convenient Location - Small roomPosted Sep 15, 2015
Location: Easy to get to shopping, restaurants and public transportation (subway). Not too far of a walk to Times Square unless you are wearing heels.
This hotel was pretty much what I expected. While the hotel staff were very pleasant and helpful, the room was a little small for two people. We felt cramped. But I suppose that is what you might expect from hotels in NYC where space is at a premium.

Stern gegeben.

Comfy beds and sheets; small rooms; good locationPosted Aug 23, 2015
Pros: loved the view of the Empire State Building from our front room.
Cons: No more room for bureaus but maybe more shelving in the tiny closet would help. Grouting in showers needs replacing soon.
Location: We walked home from Broadway shows nearby and easily made it to Grand Central Station.
Friendly staff let us check in quite early which helped a lot. While the rooms are tiny you can use every single drawer they offer and the computer table to keep things on......but there isn't even room for suitcases so pack light! Having breakfast included is great as is wi-fi. Front desk was very responsive to any issues with the room.

Clean, friendly staff and good locationPosted Jul 23, 2015
Our room was clean and comfortable. It was small but we had a King bed (which was worth it). it also had a desk near the window and a small closet. The bathroom had a shower only and small vanity area. Overall I would give it 4.5 out of 5. The staff was excellent. They were helpful, friendly and get 5 out of 5. Location was close to Times Square and about 5-10 minute walk. There is a big bus stop for the downtown loop at the corner of 37th and 5th which was practically right outside the doorstep and we used that for sightseeing.
