nice hotel in New York City in Chelsea

Pros: It's near everything but not in the middle of Time Square and MIdtown that are too busy for my taste.
I enjoyed my stay at Marriot Fairfield in Chelsea, Manhattan. The staff was super helpful. Our room was comfortable. Breakfast was satisfying. The only thing that was less than perfect was the nearby construction noise that started at 7 am, but maybe it will be temporary, not sure. Otherwise, I would effeminately stay there again on another visit.

Convenient

Good location. A couple of the front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good. Tea and coffee were available at all times. However air con in bedroom was noisy. We had 2 double beds and one of the bed is next to the air con which makes it hard for my children to sleep. It's like sleeping next to a generator!

nice hotel close to what we needed

Pros: everything
Cons: bigger gym
Location: few blocks from time square, and many restaurants
the whole staff was as kind and helpful as could be. Ashley from the front desk is great!! The whole crew is great!

Convenient spot for Chelsea visit

Easy walking to PENN station, nice location in the florist district. Breakfast was plentiful and glass atrium was nice. Check out the roof deck - so nice and empty!

Air Conditioner did not work

I booked this hotel during the later part of May. When I entered the room, the air conditioner was not switched on and the room was a bit warm, so I turned on the AC and there was hot air blowing from the air conditioner. I informed the reception several times but it was not fixed. I went into the city to meet up with some friends and returned to the room in the night and it was extremely hot. I called the reception and was informed that the Engineer was not available in the night. I asked if I could move to another room but was told that all the rooms were completely booked. Later, the receptionist sent a portable "fan" to the room. The "fan" looked more like a vacuum cleaner and was very noisy. I couldn't sleep at all that night.

Garden Street

Great in every way. The only downside was a 60-minute wait for valet parking to return my car, when I was told it would take 30. But not the hotel's fault (other than contracting that particular garage).
