I hardly ever write reviews, and mostly only give positive star ratings.
But Theta had the WORST service ever! So I had to warn you.
I booked a room for a short night between connecting flights from Seattle to NYC and then to Israel. I only wanted a shower a couple of hours sleep, but paid them the full $300.
I was supposed to arrive at 12am, but my flight to NY got delayed so I updated the hotel that I’ll arrive around 3am. Eventually the delay was 7 hours so I landed in NYC only at 7am, when my next flight boarding is at 10am!!
Obviously I notified the hotel that I can’t arrive due to the time limit.
The hotel service person was rude and didn’t even try to understand my situation. he insisted it’s none refundable!
I asked for the manager who also was quickly to say that I can’t get a refund or partial refund since when I notified about the delay they “registered” the room for me which made my order non-cancelable!!
They didn’t even offer a free room at another date.
This outrageous behavior is unacceptable and I informed my HR and travel agent of my Tech company to remove Theta from any future planned booking of my ~200 employees that frequently come to NYC.
If this behavior is when people have a real unplanned difficult event, I only assume the service in the hotel is bad / rude across the board.
Think carefully before booking there!!
