A gem of a hotel close to the heart of New York, giving you a haven of peace and tranquility. Warm welcome from reception. One of the doorman, didn’t get his name, was the perfect ambassador for the hotel, always pleasant and helpful sharing advice during our stay. The club room provided snacks and drinks and for us Brits the opportunity to drink tea! Bedroom was roomy, clean and provided everything we needed although the generator or air con unit from the building next door broke the silence. Would definitely stay here again if I revisit NYC.

Great little hotel. Comfortable bedrooms. Lounge that offers hot beverages and snacks - great place to sit and take a breath. Fab bar called Monkey Bar on site. Excellent food and atmosphere. Fir the reasonable price it’s a bargain. Staff are lovely too. I was travelling alone from the UK and felt very safe and comfortable.

Excellent location, especially for high end shopping. The Monkey Bar is attached, still a fun spot. Room size was adequate. Has a tub shower, which isn’t my preference. Furniture could use some updating. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Cost is perfect. We would definitely go back.

property needs a renovation. $25 daily charge was basically a charge for wifi which was spotty and slow. the breakfast and lunch options were poor, I tried first day and not again. desk staff was first rate, very helpful, professional and thoughtful. excellent location. connected to monkey bar which is an excellent restaurant and they can help with reservations which is a plus. room rate was fair except for the $25 daily charge.

A lovely boutique hotel. Small, very European, comfortable with lots of amenities including a lovely lounge area that serves a simple complimentary breakfast and snacks and beverages all day long. I would go back but I would request a room off the back of the hotel because it was quite loud at night. One slow elevator so not good for rushing. All in all, an excellent location and welcoming comfortable place, particularly if you have a more relaxed schedule.

Spent two night here. The restaurant on the property has a 2 weeks out reservation list so couldn’t eat there. Went to the bar for a glass of wine and it was packed like sardines literally! The beds are extremely hard and super firm. I do not suggest this hotel for bed comfort. I’m very surprised at the quality of the bed here. It’s convenient to many restaurants and shopping which was a bonus. Very pretty inside and my room was spacious but absolutely not comfortable to sleep.

Best part of stay was the staff, who were friendly & personal & provided the best all around service I think I’ve ever experienced in over 50 years of travel. Overall the Hotel was cozy & great, but mainly because of the staff, we’ll definitely stay at the hotel again.

I felt like I was in my favorite city Paris, the breakfast and breakfast room were especially cozy and delightful. Only negative is no place to grip if you are in the bath or shower. For older guests this is really dangerous. Grab-bars should be put in.

The staff was great especially Jazzmyn. She arranged a car service for me quickly when I had to return home. She went above and beyond. The furniture was a bit tired but could be easily replaced. I will definitely return.

Overall nice hotel, no special amenities, but rooms are clean, and the staff is professional and friendly. Located on 54th between Park and Madison it is an ideal midtown location, close to Rock Center, Fifth Avenue and Central Park (all very walkable). Monkey Bar is a great space with good food.

A great oasis in midtown
The Hotel Elysee has been our stay of choice for pre-holiday visits to NYC three times -- in 2016, 2017 and now in 2023. It is so well-located in midtown, a quiet refuge from the bustle and tumult of the season and the area. The staff are exceptional: welcoming, solicitous, professional. The public spaces give an air of understated old-school luxury. The second floor lounge provides spacious and comfortable spaces to enjoy the complimentary coffee and pastries each morning; regrettably, the afternoon counterpart of wine and cheese offerings which afforded a relaxing afternoon respite apparently fell victim to Covid. Oue room was quite spacious and the king size bed and bedding very comfortable. A few minor criticisms: the small wooden shelving in the bathroom provides ample space for storing toiletry bags (something lacking in too many hotel bathrooms) but the chipped and peeling paint on this piece of furniture was shabby, not "charming and old"; a non-operable and empty minibar was likewise unattractive and only space-occupying; finally, a hotel of this class should supply glasses, not flimsy wrapped plastic cups. These suggestions for improvement notwithstanding, we look forward to again staying at this wonderful hotel.

Lovely hotel
The hotel is very friendly - all of the staff were helpful and quite nice. Our room was large and comfy. The continental breakfast was spare but adequate and better than trying to go out and find something. The snacks were amazing.

This lovely little boutique hotel is on a quiet side street but is walkable to restaurants and shopping, Central Park and transit. The staff was very attentive and the Continental breakfast was a perfect way to start the day. The room was generous and the bed was super comfortable. Big, lush towels and a super hot shower made the stay even nicer. Five stars!

Old world hotel on the east side. Monkey Bar on lobby level. Power went out on my floor sometime in the overnight hours, called desk at 5:30 and they offered another room if they couldn't fix it...fixed by 8 am! I'll be back!

Staff make a Hotel.
Comfortable, clean but a little tired, old tech, needs an update but BUT BUT the staff were exceptional, friendly, warm and caring, nothing was too much, whether booking a last minute meal at the excellent Monkey Bar with the front desk or getting an extra blanket from housekeeping or greeted with a smile by the porters, we thought they were excellent until we arrived home and realised we left something behind, then we realised they are exceptional. Jazzmyn shipped it to us, making us feel very valued, she deserves employee of the year, thank you, we'll be back!
