Great hidden gem!

Posted Aug 28, 2015
Pros: Convenient, clean, comfortable. Rooms small but efficient.
Cons: Tubs in the bathrooms, or, at the least, a foot step in shower for women to put feel on when shaving legs! Also with there were a reward program.
Location: Everything! Theaters, restaurants, people watching.
I have stayed at the Mela many times and love it. It is a hidden gem of a boutique, midtown Manhattan hotel. I am in NYC for work a lot and while don't love Time Square due to the tourist congestion, it is convenient for my work. The Mela rooms are small (like all NYC hotels) but clean and efficient. The staff could not be nicer and more accommodating. Although I don't get membership points, The Mela is my favorite hotel in the city and I recommend to any traveler heading to New York.

Central hotel near to many landmarks

Posted Aug 27, 2015
Pros: Close approximation to Times Square / tour buses / subway
Cons: More storage space for clothes
Location: Times Square / Broadway / 42nd Street for shows / 5th Avenue - Belasco Theatre opposite entrance
The hotel is 2 minutes from Times Square but late night noise was not a problem. The room was clean & comfortable if a little small as we were moving onto a cruise so had several cases which could not be unpacked. The wardrobe could only hold a few items and nothing longer than a t-shirt as the safe takes up too much room so we lived out of suitcases. Staff were friendly & extremely helpful & overall this is a very good, conveniently placed hotel.

Bra hotell om man vill bo nära Times Square

Posted Aug 26, 2015

Very central, on Times Square

Hot shower for only 2 minutes then water goes cold. Even after complaining about it, still the same. A hot shower is an essential for me, without any restrictions on how long the shower should be.

At the center of Time square / the theater distric

Posted Aug 20, 2015
Pros: They have free newspapers available in the lobby.
Cons: They could have coffee and rolls in the morning available.
Location: The town never sleeps. Everything activity is near by.
The only problem is that they don't have breakfast in the morning.

In a great location, close to Times Square

Lovely hotel with approachable staff. In a great location in Midtown. Easy access to transport 5-10min walks. Only downside was the night time construction in the area which awoke us several times throughout the first & second nights, we were not made aware of this prior to/at check in. Wifi was good speed additionally.

Fantastic location!

Posted Aug 15, 2015
Pros: Location! Location! Location! and stuff were wonderful
Cons: Like most big city USA hotels, quite expensive
Location: Great location, walking distance to most big NYC landmarks - Central Park, Time Square, Empire State Building and more! Easy public transport also.
Not a bad price for NYC and FANTASTIC location! Easy walking distance to most downtown attractions. FABULOUS concierge who couldn't have been more helpful! Comfortable and clean rooms. Highly recommend. like most USA hotels in the major cities, don't forget to factor in the high cost of valet parking on top of your stay if travelling with a car. Would definitely stay again. 😀

Great location

Posted Aug 11, 2015
Stayed here for 4 nights in August 2015, great location just off the bottom of Times Square. Rooms are well decorated, very clean with a big walk in shower but really really tiny. I didn't know hotel rooms came so small! My daughter could literally lie across the bed and reach out and touch both walls. In saying that we spent very little time in the room, it was just a bit tight with no room left after we put our cases and shopping bags in the room. Had a view out onto the back of a building but this meant the room was quiet, apart from the a/c which could have done with a volume button! Overall a good hotel and location if very short on space!
