Pros: South-facing balcony looking out towards the Brooklyn Bridge and Wall Street. Perfect for a cool beer in the sunshine
Cons: Check-in was a little uncoordinated. I was asked to wait, but they never came to tell me they were ready - I had to ask.
The hotel is well situated and very impressively fitted out, with nice design touches, a stylish bathroom and, best of all, the room I had came complete with a private balcony, looking out over south Manhattan. It was close to a subway stop, and there was a good range of bars and restaurants in the area.

Welcoming Hotel & StaffPosted Aug 7, 2015
Pros: Staff helpfulness, complimentary wine of an evening and access to pool table all great, but best is good standard clean rooms (with a safe) & security
Cons: Pretty happy with the way we were treated.
Location: Location safe, near subway station (Essex & Delancey Street). Near World Trade One & Chinatown.
Hotel is a little way out of the centre, but this is easy to get to on subway or bus. This also means it's handily placed for visiting World Trade One and ferry's on the East side. Rooms clean, staff very helpful, has pool table (free) - handy if you have teenage kids etc and there is complimentary wine up to 6 pm! As well as this you get a knock at the door every night with a freshly made cookie for everyone in the room! (nice touch) Area is safe and no problems walking around immediate area. I would definately stay here again. Also, if you get a room above 8th floor you get a great view of surrounding area (including World Trade One - which you can walk yo in about 20 minutes).

Not what I expectedPosted Jun 30, 2015 on Hotels
I was surprised at the room compared with the description. we had a corner king with balcony and tub. was thinking for price the room would be a lot bigger. view wasn't amazing and the room itself was definitely shaking some wear and tear. all doors including balcony were almost impossible to lock or open. curtains were a bit shoddy and could've been replaced. fun was great, water pressure was insane; felt like I was getting beat up but overall bathroom was great. bed was very comfortable. mini bar was insane. valet always said 10 minutes but that turned into 20-30 every time. stayed at Sixty LES and Ink 48 the same weekend (hotel hoppers!) and liked those both a lot better, however Rivington was most expensive of the 3!

Just a fabulous quiet space ( yes, the room was spacious ) bed was cozy, the only noise was some teenagers away from their parents screaming Sunday morning. Hotel is cool, the staff are really friendly.

Location: Lots to do. Enjoyed Katz's and the Tenement Museum.
Pleasant. We had problems finding it because the exact address was not online and the outside sign said Coop - very confusing. Room was not ready until 5 pm. Do not like non-refundable option. Once we finally found it, very comfortable. Recommend having water rather than seltzer in the Lobby.

Weed, noisePosted Jun 26, 2015
Pros: Location is OK.
Elevator dark, run-down, and smells like weed. Loud partying noise and pungent smell of weed emanating from neighboring rooms. Management uninterested.

Customer Service FailPosted Jun 23, 2015 on Hotels
On the plus side, I love the location of this hotel and the room was a good size. However, the customer service - clearly a sign of poor management - was awful. Upon arrival, I discovered that the light bulb in my bathroom was burned out. I called immediately and was told it would be replaced. When I returned my first night, it was not. I called again. And then again the next morning. And again the next afternoon. Nothing but apologies. When I checked out I was told I would be contacted by the General Manager - that they were so sorry. No word. I emailed Mr Tenant. No response. When I called for a follow up, the front desk clerk snidely told me that he was sorry a light bulb ruined my stay. No. What ruined my stay was that I chose to spend nearly $300/night at Hotel on Rivington, and I had to wash my face, brush my teeth and go to the bathroom in the dark... and it seems that the hotel management could care less about my experience or my repeat business.
